While it will more than likely become yet another laughable season for the Knicks (yes I’m actually a fan), it will be interesting to see how newcomer Darko Milicic fairs. I mean we’re all aware of his supposed “talent” (whatever that means) and the man did become a father this summer so perhaps he might be decent.
And then you’ve got The Rooster! Pre season stats and reviews show that he’s kind of a puss right now (not that that’s anything new) but those of us that got a glimpse of Danilo Gallinari last season can see that if he’s used the right way, his shooting ability has to be able to get the Knicks some offense.
Oh wait, I forgot! Offense doesn’t really win you many games in this league does it…Sure it’ll be nice to see another D’Antoni run and gun team but come on. Are we really this far away from the solid Pat Reilly defensive dirty days? Yes, yes we are….
Don’t get me wrong. I think D’Antoni is a great coach but the game has changed quite a bit over the years. And I find it strange that players have gotten bigger and bigger yet wussier and wussier. Not to mention refs are calling everything these days. And now replacement refs? Don’t even get me started.
The amount of gambling and crappy calls going on this year will be unacceptable. I wouldn’t be surprised if a ref literally took a dump on the three point line so that a player tripped and fell in shit so long as the spread was covered.
With players having the strength and size to withstand more pain, coaches need to toughen em up a little. Get them competitive. Instead? Instead we have two little white babies on the Knicks now and I’m a little concerned with how fired up they’ll be.
At least we know that two Knick players will most likely be wearing lots of pommade and purple blazers when they go out for a night on the town.
Go Knicks!
