LSU is a football powerhouse, but they’re also supposed to be an academic powerhouse, which is why it comes as a surprise that LSU Tiger fans have the time on their hands to leave taunting message to Florida football players.
Backup quarterback John Brantley said Monday night he has received “quite a few” taunting text messages from numbers he does not recognize.
Florida coach Urban Meyer, offensive coordinator Steve Addazio and receiver Riley Cooper have also been getting extra calls and texts this week, apparently from LSU fans trying to get in their ears — or heads — before Saturday night’s game between top-ranked Florida and No. 4 LSU.
Trying to get into their heads? This is a team that has won two national championships in three years and LSU fans think a bit of taunting text messages are going to throw them off of their game? HAH! It seems all that time in the classroom has left Tiger fans a bit delirious. NBA fans waving those phallic looking balloons will sooner distract free-throw shooters than taunting texts will.
Watch Urban Meyer prove me wrong after the Tigers beat the Gators and cite “distracting text messages” as a reason for the poor performance.
