Kenny Vaccaro has a scholarship to play football at one of the premier programs in the country, the University of Texas. So what’s the next logical step for this young athlete? Why, getting into a fight, of course!
An arrest warrant has been issued for Longhorns freshman safety Kenny Vaccaro for misdemeanor assault after he was involved in an alleged fight with another Texas student during a pickup basketball game.
Apparently Vaccaro was hanging out at the court, throwing basketballs at the student, Jonathan R. Fuhrman, along with his friends when the alleged shit went down. What I find mildly humorous is that Fuhrman is a law student. Furhman probably knew the legal ramifications of Vaccaro’s actions before the fight even began! That or he was probably just pissed off over getting basketballs thrown at him.
In the face of the growing controversy down in UT, Coach Mack Brown released this statement.
“We’re aware of the situation with Kenny Vaccaro,” Brown said. “We’ve talked to Kenny and his family, and pending the completion of the legal process, we’ll do what’s best for the university, Kenny and the team. One thing we have really prided ourselves on in our program is our family atmosphere, and this will be handled within our family.”
Handled within the family, eh? Sounds more like Mack Brown is going to talk to the right people so that Vaccaro gets a slap on the wrist rather than any real punishment. Since there is a warrant out for Vaccaro’s arrest, one would imagine that the incident will be handled by cops, the law and stuff. But who knows what Coach has up his sleeve. It is Texas, after all.
