Seriously, at what point are athletes going to be banned from using Twitter? It’s going to happen eventually, right? The Jets’ David Clowney is the latest athlete to put his lack of intelligence on full display by Tweeting.
…Clowney tweeted out that “Even [through our] tough times there are SOME Jet fans that still support us and show us Love. Thank you.” It was a backhanded compliment, to which AlexL__ a New Jersey based Jets fan on Twitter frustrated with Clowney’s statement and the way the team was playing, replied on Twitter to Clowney.
AlexL__ replied:
@DavidClowney Quit worrying about fans. Boo hoo fans arent happy when this team talks super bowl and performs like [redacted]. Go win [a]nd shut up
Which prompted Clowney to respond:
Amazing. It’s like two children arguing. Of course neither person can write using proper spelling or grammar, but what the fuck am I expecting? We’re about 5 years from full-on Idiocracy in this country.
Of course, the best part about all this is the indignation toward Clowney for telling AlexL__ to kill himself. Just another addition to the very long list of things people aren’t allowed to say because it’s insensitive and offensive. Fuck that. Fans and sportwriters both get free reign to say pretty much whatever they want about athletes. Fans will curse and insult athletes behind the safety of their keyboards or safely from their seats at a sporting event, and if the athlete dares to respond, the media’s down his throat like a 9-incher in Ava Devine.
If you’re going to get into a back-and-forth Twitter war with a Jets receiver, maybe you should kill youself. I don’t think people like AlexL__ should be reproducing.
Come on, AlexL__, do something really drastic that’ll make Clowney regret what he did. Surely there’s some huge stunt you could pull, some giant act to exectute, that would make Clowney feel really bad. He’d sure feel dumb if you were gone. Just saying.
