LSU’s Coach Les Miles took blame for the odd ending to the nail biter of a game between Ole Miss and the Louisiana State Tigers over the weekend saying, “I’m responsible. I’m the head coach.”
A series of questionable play calls and suspect clock management short-circuited a possible Tigers rally against Ole Miss last Saturday. The game ended with the ball at the Rebels’ 5 and LSU not getting off a play.
The criticism comes after fans realized just how un-LSU the Tigers have been against SEC opponents since winning the national championship. Their record since then? 7-8.
Most outside of Louisiana probably didn’t realize this sub-par record against SEC opponents had been going, but I’m somewhat shocked myself to see it. Coach Miles has his national championship to fall back on whenever criticism surrounds him, but that can only last so long. Somewhat like when a kid uses the same excuse to get out of a homework assignment. Eventually people are going to want answers for sucktastic performances against teams they should be beating.
