That is, if you believe what Peter King has to say:

NBC’s Peter King reported during Football Night in America that he has spoken to 17 coaches and personnel executives over the past month, and that he has asked for predictions as to the precise spot at which Florida quarterback Tim Tebow will be drafted.

The average draft position?  33rd overall.

But King added that two coaches of “winning teams” said Tebow won’t get past their selections in round one.

One of the biggest talking issues this upcoming draft will be how effective Tim Tebow will be as an NFL quarterback.  The idea of him playing fullback or linebacker is absurd, and there’s no way Tebow will be anything but a QB.  I personally think that his floor is pretty high – he’s got a very strong arm, he’s accurate, he’s mobile, he has the size, and he is capable of working hard to learn complex offenses.  Only his release needs work, but there have been plenty of successful QBs in the NFL who have had bigger problems with throwing mechanics than Tebow.

As for where Tebow ends up?  As the article pointed out, Jacksonville and Minnesota make the most sense.  I’d love to see Tebow reunited with Harvin in Minnesota.  I also wouldn’t be surprised if New England takes a chance on Tebow and tries to use him in short-yardage or gimmick play situations.

The worst you get from Tim Tebow is a guy who is going to work his ass off and provide leadership.  I don’t know that he’s worth taking in the first round, but he definitely shouldn’t slip past the second.
