Michigan State’s football coach, Mark Dantonio, was criticized for reinstating Glenn Winston at the start of the season. Winston had attacked an MSU hockey player last year and was suspended, rightfully so. Now Dantonio looks like a fool, because Winston, along with others, have been involved in another scuffle.
Eight Michigan State football players have been suspended for violation of team rules after being named as suspects in a residence hall fight Nov. 22. The suspensions come just days after two players were dismissed from the team for their role in the brawl.
I feel like more and more of my posts are about idiot college players squandering a chance to play D-1 football and keeping the scholarship that normally comes with it. I will be paying back my college loans for quite some time, yet these fools don’t seem to know how lucky they are to be able to go to school for free, in exchange for playing a pretty fun game.
Granted I don’t know the details of the fight, but it doesn’t sound like a coming together moment from some cheesy sports movie. It sounds like these guys were less than intelligent. Here’s a list of the players involved.
Running back Glenn Winston and safety Roderick Jenrette were dismissed last week. Among those suspended were cornerback Chris L. Rucker, wide receiver Mark Dell, running back Ashton Leggett, and wide receiver B.J. Cunningham, all of whom were starters.
Way to go, guys.
At least they didn’t go the way of Tennessee and knock off a gas station. But both are pretty freaking stupid.

Brian here, MSU grad, still lives in the area….
…Allegedly it all started at a bar/music venue called The Small Planet. The FB players went and wound up in a fight with a fraternity (suprise, suprise). Im not sure which frat, it was one of the all black ones from what Ive heard. Anyhow, after the players were ejected from the bar, they went to some football banquet, and the frat bros (read:d-bags) went to Rather, a residence hall on campus; which coincidentally, is right across the street from from where the football banquet was being held. After the banquet the fb players went looking for trouble, and apparently found it.
Atleast none of the hockey players were injured this time…we have a damn fine hockey team….
