I’D LIKE TO ADDRESS THE NECK TATTOO PROBLEM IN THE NBA

Starbury! I know he’s not playing but come on

OK team. Let’s have at it. I think I’ve seen about 600 photo galleries that feature tattoos on NBA players. And I would say about 10 years ago putting up one of those galleries was somewhat a novel idea. I also thought back then that that might be about it. As in we wouldn’t really go much further than knowing NBA players had tattoos.

But oh how I was wrong. Now it appears that at least 90% of players have tattoos these days. Hey even a dorky looking dude like David Lee’s got em. I mean you’d really have to be some kind of an Opie Brian Scalabrine type to not sport a tattoo if you’re in the association. It’s just common place now.

And I guess I can accept that but there’s a new line I have to draw. Do you fellas really have to take it further as to put these tattoos on your necks? Not only would that hurt like hell to do but come on! Jesus guys. You have like 75 tattoos already, why does your neck have to have these as well?

Here are some prime examples….

I find it quite interesting that 6 out of 7 of these guys have been arrested at one point in their careers.

Kenyon Martin

He also has a tattoo of lips on the other side of his neck. Very classy

Matt Barnes

Can’t you just say believe? Does it really have to be on your neck?

Allen Iverson

  1. You sound like you’re a republican southern baptist preacher from Arkansas. Do you realize you live in the 21st century?

This is the most ignorant thing I have read in a long time. It is astounding to me that you actually write for this website.

Not only are tattoos far from being a “problem”, but you write for a website dedicated to sports. Not jesus wouldn’t do that and they shouldn’t either.

If you’re afraid to look at people with body art and want to dictate people’s appearance who could piss your yearly salary you should probably not voice your opinions because people will usually consider you a failure.

  2. Kyle, you’re a bigoted douchebag. republican bapist preacher? Are you an idiot? I bet you live in the Upper West Side, or wish you did. Does Paul Krugman tell you how to think? I bet he does. Neck/hand/face tattoos are still a bit taboo in society, but whatever. This is a harmless article. Nattyb is just pointing it out. If this is the most ignorant thing you’ve read in a long time, then you must not visit Daily Kos very much. Oh noes! A guy writes about NBA tatoos, for which there’s thousands. Make fun of Republicans! I’m going to guess you have some regrettable “body art” yourself.
