Good job, Nets! You’re reached a level of ineptitude that no other NBA team ever has. An 0-18 start to the season? Good lord. As a Heat fan, I’m a little disappointed that my guys no longer hold the record for starting-the-season-suckitude, but these New Jersey Nets really deserve the honor.
“At this point, I feel the streak has definitely gotten the best of us. It’s really not starting to get to us now,” guard Chris Douglas-Roberts said. “So when a team goes on a run, we kind of, it’s almost like we give up, which is really unfortunate but that’s what it looks like to me. We kind of give up and just lay down instead of trying to fight.”
When a player admits that the team is giving up, you know things are going really, really bad. It doesn’t matter who the coach is, this team is going to such all year long. Will they reach 10 wins? I doubt it. It’s going to be a lot of fun to see how many games the Nets will lose before actually winning one.
My only regret about all of this is that Vince Carter isn’t around to suffer through the losses. Not that he’d give a shit, I guess.
