Yes, another gruesome injury in the NFL.  With all the focus on concussions, nobody’s talking about how some poor bastard seems to have his leg mutilated and twisted into a heap of meat, bone, and tendons just about every other week.  Last night, it was Vikings linebacker E.J. Henderson, and you don’t need to be a doctor to see that he broke his leg during the play in the video above.

The worst thing about this injury is that it resulted from friendly fire.  Poor E.J. has his femur totally obliterated, flopping around for all the country to see, and it happened because of a hit from his own teammate.  Al Michaels comments that this was “a rough break” at about the 0:36 mark, and I like to imagine that the pun was intended.  Speaking of puns, would this be considered a “bonehead play” by the safety Jamarca Sanford, even though he didn’t do anything wrong from a defensive standpoint?  No?  What, you don’t get it?  Oh.  Never mind.
