Words originally shouted by Mrs. Fletcher can now be attributed to Ohio State’s Evan Turner.
Ohio State star Evan Turner will miss 8 weeks after breaking bones in his back when he fell while dunking during Saturday’s game against Eastern Michigan.
Initial X-rays indicated no serious injuries, but Buckeyes athletic trainer Vince O’Brien said later tests found transverse process fractures of the second and third lumbar vertebra of Turner’s spine.
Bummer!
What blows the most for the Buckeyes is that it’s not like Evan’s dunk was a crucial two points in the game. The Buckeyes went on to win 110-60. They just lost their star player over a meaningless two points FOR EIGHT WEEKS.
Take heart, Buckeyes. You are in the business of college basketball, not football, where one loss doesn’t tarnish your season and lead to a crappy bowl game. Sure, you might lose some games and drop in the rankings, but you’ll always have that NCAA tournament to look forward to. March Madness. A ginormous playoff system, which allows teams from North Carolina to Timbucktoo to have a shot at the title.
Besides, you still have Diebler, and it’s not like he’s chopped liver (old expression) compared to Evan Turner.
