What’s the difference between these ads and the Lil’ Penny ads from years ago?  Not too much, except that I didn’t mind Lil’ Penny.  I’ll be honest – the Lebron and Kobe puppets annoy the shit out of me.  I just don’t understand the whole point.  Is it supposed to be cute?  Is it supposed to be funny?  Because there’s nothing funny about a couple of crudely made puppets that are supposed to be representative of guys who would never hang out in real life.

And what’s with the Lebron puppet?  He’s got the same eyes as Brian Peppers for Christ’s sake.  In the newest commercial, puppet Lebron and puppet Kobe argue over who would win between a lion and a black mamba.  At the end, the words “We’re Back” appear on the screen.  Oh, good – I was wondering how the fuck I was going to make it through another NBA season without puppets of Lebron James and Kobe Bryant.  Like people are supposed to be excited over the return of a series of commercials?  Ugh.
