Seriously – when is this guy going to quit with the shameless self-promoting?

Ochocinco announced on his live USTREAM broadcast Sunday morning that he will be legally changing his last name to “Hachi Go” next season.

“Hachi Go” is Japanese for 85.

A Japanese film crew was in town a couple weeks ago to do a piece on the Bengals for a NFL show over there. They said all NFL fans in Japan know who Chad Ochocinco is and they seriously made a proposal to Chad to change his last name to “Hachi Go”.

“Some fans of mine that are Japanese said I should change my last name to ‘Hachi Go’.”

Wouldn’t that be great if “Hachi Go” really meant something other that “Eighty five?”  You know those idiots who get Chinese symbols tattooed on their bodies and take the tattoo artist’s word for it that the symbol they’re getting means “warrior,” when in reality the artist and his Chinese buddies are having a good laugh at the fact that they just stamped “small wang” on a guy’s shoulder blade?  Maybe that’s at play here.  I sure hope it is.

I mean, do people in Japan really watch football, and do they really love Chad Ochocinco?  I doubt it – maybe this is like when Bruno interviewed Shaud Williams when he played for Alabama and told him that he has many fans in Austria.  Yeah, because Austrians love the Crimson Tide.

What I’m trying to say is that I hope Chad goes ahead with the name change, only to find out later that “Hachi Go” is Japanese for “deep throat.”
