This video is a bad way to promote the FCS Title game this Friday night, but that’s what this article is all about. Obviously, we’re not talking the ability levels of ‘Bama and Texas here, but these guys aren’t a bunch of chumps. There have been several successful professional players (Brian Westbrook, Joe Flacco) who have come out of the FCS. Let’s face it, talent is talent, and just because these guys go to smaller schools doesn’t mean they can’t play. Our first order of business is to get rid of the stereotype that the FCS is backyard football that you or I could step in as quarterback. Lineman tip the scales at 300 lbs, and receivers and returners can burn up 40 times just like the primetime boys. You will see guys in this game playing at the next level mark my words.

The game takes place this Friday at 8 pm in Chatanooga, TN.  Don’t let the location throw you off.  Villanova has beaten Holy Cross, New Hampshire, and then William & Mary in the semifinals (they have playoffs, oh by the way) to reach the championship.  The Grizzlies from the University of Montana have taken out South Dakota State, Stephen F. Austin, and Appalachian State in the semis for a date with Nova. Yes, that is the same Appalachian State that beat Michigan a couple years back.   This year Villanova, who is 13-1, has beaten Temple, who you can see play in the EagleBank Bowl vs. UCLA. And just in case no one is convinced yet, the Associated Press, who are smarter than me, saw fit to give Montana some Top 25 votes. Top 25 votes in the same poll as Texas, Florida, etc.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying these teams would run table if they were in a powerhouse conference. What I am saying is they shouldn’t be underestimated because they could give some well known schools a run for their money. They don’t have the big stadium or big bucks, but I promise you if you are bored Friday you will not be disappointed by the Football game you see. I obviously didn’t help my cause by leading in with this video, but hey when you’re an idiot you’re going to get exposed regardless of what Division.
