This is precisely why it’s absurd to discuss teams like Cincinnati, TCU, and Boise State being in the BCS Championship despite their undefeated seasons. The Bearcats were 6th in the country in total offense, but managed just 24 points against an SEC defense. They had something like 55 yards in the first HALF. Cincinnati would have been lucky to go .500 in the SEC.

Unless a team comes from the SEC, Big 12, Big 10, or are a loaded USC team, they really shouldn’t be in the discussion for the BCS Championship. The big boys play in the power conferences, so a 12-0 record doesn’t mean shit if it comes against the Pee-Wee Big East.
