One is always left to wonder if pro athletes “get it” or don’t. Some guys have been wired to understand, other guys learn the hard way, and of course there are some that will never get it. Professional sports is severely lacking in numbers when it comes to “getting it”.

Ok, I’ll give you women and you’ll enjoy it [Uncoached]

This is an excerpt from a video taken by fans at a Canucks game. This dude was hammered, belligerent, shoved security, and was with his 11-year-old son.

You gotta love hockey.

Mark Fistric is a pioneer. Enough of this trying to grab the other dude’s jersey and pull it over his head; smashing him with his own helmet is clearly the way to go.

I haven’t followed the NHL in a long time (not since the Isles were in the playoffs), but it’s nice to see that fighting is still alive and well. You’ve gotta love a sport that not only tolerates fighting, but has rules in place to manage it.

A little walk down memory lane for those who are familiar with former Alabama Crimson Tide lineman Andre Smith and his shirtless 40 yard dash. Smith, who held out then got hurt, got ripped to shreds for his poor combine effort. Nonetheless, the Bengals drafted him and gave him a lot of money. Return on their investment? So far just guys like me still posting videos of his combine and spaztic man boobs.

WARRIORS LAKERS

If you haven’t yet been over to Nic Cage as Everyone, you’re truly missing out.  Photoshopping the over-actor’s head onto various celebrities and athletes really is a brilliant idea, especially when you get images like the one above.  I’m a little creeped out, to be honest.

Imagine THAT forcing its way into you from behind in a Colorado resort.

Thanks to Talk Hoops for the image.

Iowa_Energy_7

I’m guessing not many of you caught the amazing game between the Iowa Energy and the Ft Wayne Mad Ants on the 23rd of January in the NBA’s developmental league.  This isn’t to knock the league or anything.  I mean at least they have cheerleaders right?

And nothing brought me more of a “charge” than the dancers for the Iowa Energy.  I’m sorry.  I can’t do this anymore.  I can’t keep giving retarded pun after retarded pun.  I’m better than that.  You guys are better than that.

What I can give you are some pictures of these ladies strutting their stuff on the basketball court.  Cool?

New York Mets vs. St. Louis Cardinals

Because, hey, if you can’t get Ben Sheets, Fernando Tatis is the next best thing, right?

PORT ST. LUCIE — Omar Minaya is deep into negotiations with Fernando Tatis for a return engagement, and could have a deal complete within a matter of days, according to a baseball source.

The 35-year-old hit .282 with eight homers and 48 RBIs last season, but incurred the wrath of Mets’ fans by hitting into 13 double plays in 340 at-bats.

There’s pretty much zero chance that Omar Minaya is the Mets’ GM at this point next year.  Molina may not have been a great fit for the Mets, but they overpayed Jason Bay (which is fine, I guess) and passed on Lackey, Sheets, and Pineiro.  For some reason, I don’t think signing a 35-year-old is going to do much to improve the team.  And if they stick him at first base, well, have fun with that.

Tatis once hit two grand slams in one inning, but cool stats like that don’t mean much when you’re over the hill and essentially worthless.  He gives the Mets a little bit in the pop department, but overall, I can’t imagine Mets fans being too happy with his return.  I guess David Segui wasn’t available.

But hey, he’s Latin, so you know that Omar’s happy.  Is it a coincidence that white Tim Redding just signed with the Rockies?  Doubtful…
