Danilo Gallinari is a young professional basketball player in the Big Apple. He’s got boyish good looks and has begun his discovery of women in New York. Well someone close to the Unathletic staff by chance met one of his conquests, and we were not disappointed. We’ll examine what he’s working with, and also reveal a notch on his belt…

Granted this was nearly a year ago you have to admit that there aren’t too many opportunities to see really tall black dudes who are awesome at basketball wear funny shoes and go bowling.
Not to mention it’s for a good charity.
On March 26, 2009, Wizards Care hosted the second annual team fundraiser, “The Ballers Bowl”. The event provided season ticket holders and team sponsors the opportunity to meet with the Wizards players and to bid on Wizards memorabilia in a silent auction, with all proceeds going to the Capital Area Food Bank.
It remains to be seen if this coming March the Wizards will be at it again. It’s a shame there’s no footage of Mr. Arenas and his gun at the one this past March.

Every team has “those” fans. All I’m saying is it must have been the biggest kick in the nuts to get tasered and arrested before the AFC CHAMPIONSHIP game. Not only did you pay for the tickets, you traveled to Indy… That stinks

This happened last night when the Raptors beat the Lakers. What would Vince Carter have done in this situation?
Jesus, is American Idol really still this popular?
Larry Platt, better known to millions of Americans as the “Pants on the Ground” guy, met with the Vikings hours before the team was set to play in the NFC Championship game against the New Orleans Saints.
Platt became an overnight sensation earlier this month when he performed his song for the judges on “American Idol.” Since then it has spawned countless imitators, including Brett Favre, who sang the song in the Vikings’ locker room after the team’s divisional playoff win last week. Favre’s rendition led to Sunday’s visit, which was reportedly set up by coach Brad Childress.
Unlike Pedro Martinez’s midget, Platt wasn’t able to provide the Vikes with any luck heading into the NFC Championship Game. Still, that’s pretty cool of Childress to invite Platt to visit the Vikings on Sunday. It must have been awesome for Platt, and it seems like the players all got a real big kick out of it. I still have no idea what all the fuss is about. You can watch a video of Platt’s “performance” after the jump.
This could happen to anybody, right?
When the Lakers left New York on Saturday morning to travel to Toronto, Bynum missed the team flight and was forced to pay for his own travel to Canada.
Lakers Coach Phil Jackson said that Bynum would be fined — he wouldn’t disclose the amount — and that paying his own way was another way of punishment for the young center.
Jackson said Bynum placed his bags outside his hotel room in New York for the designated time for pickups, but perhaps fell back to sleep.
“His bags made it to Toronto, but he didn’t,” Jackson said, smiling. “So obviously he got up and put his bags outside the door and something happened between there and the bus, like going back to sleep again, or whatever. … He’s all right. A rookie mistake you would call it, even though he’s not a rookie. There’s a standard fine for it. He paid his own plane fare.”
I’m going to give Bynum a pass on this one, simply because something like this is one of my biggest fears. I can’t even imagine the pit in his stomach and the “ohhhh shit!” feeling Bynum must have had when he woke up and saw the time on his alarm clock. The worst thing to do when you need to be someplace on time is to go back to sleep for a small nap before getting up for good.
I still have dreams about sleeping in and missing exams, and I constantly dread having an appearance in court (I’m a lawyer, sorry) and sleeping through it for some reason. It terrifies me. So I’m not going to criticize Bynum one little bit for this one – I say everyone is entitled to a free pass just once. If it can happen to Bynum, well…

If you are a heterosexual male you probably know about Arizona State. I mean this place is tops in partying, tops in babes, and probably tops in stupidity, but that doesn’t matter. Just in case it’s slipped your mind, let’s revisit the ASU cheerleading scandal, and then peruse some more hotties associated with athletics… You know I would make up for that shitty Colts betting article…

What does Hedo Turkoglu do last night? Yes, he made the final two free throws to allow the Raptors to beat the Lakers. And this coming off the heels of our man Madison writing about how Vince Carter is a pussy. Well, I’m gonna have to agree with that. Now I’m not necessarily saying that Vince Carter makes teams worse. Let us not make that mistake.
But I’m not saying he makes teams better either. Think about it. In Vince’s early days the Raptors were not that bad a team. In fact they made the playoffs a few times until Carter decided and admittedly wasn’t trying anymore. I’m also convinced that a young Tracy McGrady was more of the reason why the Raptors were good. Although Carter was WAY tougher back then.
But don’t forget kids. The Nets made the finals without Carter and didn’t fare too well in the playoffs WITH Carter. It was really in these seasons that Carter started wussing out a bit. Much more outside shooting and clearly not the kind of player that could really take over a game. McGrady had that once. I don’t know if Carter ever did. Sure he can light up the stat sheet and dunk over 7 footers but that doesn’t win a championship.
Hedo Turkoglu on the other hand. The Magic kept getting better and better with this guy on the team. He’s 6’9-6’10, is a great ball handler, shoots the three and is an excellent passer for a big man. But more importantly, he’s a difference maker. People might say the emergence of Dwight Howard is the reason the Magic became very good. And granted I agree. However, I think it’s the fact that Turkoglu was finally allowed to work better on the court with a solid big man around.
No, Turkoglu can’t be a one man guy (which I don’t think Carter can) but surround him with good tools, and watch what happens. Case in point? Chris Bosh and Andrea Bargnani. The Raptors are going to make the playoffs this year. And don’t be surprised if they wind up making it past the first round.
And don’t be surprised if Hedo is the one making the headlines when it happens. The Magic? The Magic don’t have a prayer and aren’t nearly as good as they were last year. Sure they have a decent record but the East sucks and they’d get schooled by the West this year. At least that’s what I think.
