In case you missed it due to all the excitement of the Pro Bowl (haha, yeah right):
Herschel Walker won his MMA debut with Strikeforce on Saturday night. Reread that sentence. Walker, who won the Heisman Trophy in 1982 and was an Olympian in 1992, won by TKO at 2:17 in the third round over Greg Nagy.
Even before the fight was called, Walker dominated. He started out the fight with stiff standup and yelled at his opponent to engage. When Nagy did engage and try for a takedown, Walker sprawled to stuff the takedown attempt. Walker controlled the rest of the round from the top.
Between this news and the photo of Greg Oden’s dong, I’ve been feeling really inadequate over the last week or so. I mean, it’s one thing to see a picture of a schlong that’s literally twice the size of your own. But when you’re 32 years old and feel like your groin is going to tear away from the rest of your body after 10 minutes of basketball, it doesn’t do much for the confidence to see a chiseled 47-year-old beat the shit out of a professional fighter.
I should probably look to Herschel Walker for motivation, but all I really want to do is cancel my gym membership and be held by my mother.
