Let me ask you something Met fans: who would you rather have running your team at this point?  O’Reilly may not make the Mets any better, but surely he’d be able to spin the Willie Randolph firing and Carlos Beltran surgery far better than any spin Minaya and company came up with.  Maybe he could even explain why Reyes had thyroid problems after visiting a doctor linked to HGH and why David Wright managed only 10 home runs last year.  It’ going to be a long season, Mets fans, and maybe O’Reilly is just the guy to spin it into something positive.
