kg-fight

The studio gangster isn’t going to look so tough sitting on the sidelines.

Celtics forward Kevin Garnett has been suspended for Game 2 of Boston’s first-round playoff series against the Heat for landing an elbow to the face of Miami’s Quentin Richardson in a fourth-quarter fracas during Saturday’s Game 1.

The announcement was made Sunday by Stu Jackson, NBA executive vice president, basketball operations.

Richardson was fined $25,000 for his role in the altercation.

To be honest, I’m pretty shocked the NBA suspended KG for a game.  Not because he didn’t deserve it – he did – but because it’s so rare that a susperstar is actually held accountable for his actions.  Who’s going to throw cheap elbows and pound his chest when Pierce is on the ground faking another “injury” now?

As a Heat fan, this is good news for Game 2, but it’s still gonna be tough for me to watch.  I tried watching some Spurs-Suns last night and after charge, charge, travel, brick, bad pass turnover, I turned it off.  The NBA needs to do a better job of fixing its games.
