That is all.

I swear I had no idea that Josh McRoberts was still in the NBA until I saw this video clip. I mean, yeah, maybe he sat the bench somewhere and waved a towel around when his team was winning, but I didn’t know he actually got to play. For a long time, players from Duke didn’t amount to much in the NBA, so I figured McRoberts had simply followed suit.

Pretty nice catch and finish, though, that’s for sure.

The Brandon Knight sweepstakes will be decided soon.

Speculation over where Pine Crest five-star guard Brandon Knight will play next season is expected to end Wednesday at 4 p.m. when Knight makes his long-awaited announcement live on ESPNU inside the Pine Crest Auditorium.

The two-time National Gatorade Player of the Year has kept things close to the vest since narrowing his choices to Kentucky, Kansas, Syracuse, Florida and Connecticut but several sources believe Kentucky will emerge victorious in the Knight sweepstakes.

I’m certainly not a source, but I think it’s a no-brainer that Knight ends up at Kentucky.  Florida has pulled itself out of the running already – not because they’re no longer interested, but because Billy Donovan realized he didn’t have a chance.  And that’s bad news for Florida, which hasn’t been impressive since winning its second championship four years ago.  Since then it’s been NIT tournaments and a first round NCAA exit, and I am guessing Knight wants to go somewhere where he can win.  Failing to recruit an in-state player is not a good sign for UF.

Anyway, now that John Wall is going to the NBA, look for Knight to pick Kentucky.  I’ll be rooting for him – not only is he a great player, but by all accounts, he’s a real good kid, too.  Let’s hope he can keep Calipari’s slime off of himself.

Those of you in San Francisco that have been pining away wondering what this year’s 49ers girls are going to look like don’t have to wait anymore.   Isn’t that fantastic?  Just recently the new Gold Rush girls team has been announced and once again San Francisco will be rocking in the cheerleader department.

Thirty-five thousand made it out to Lincoln Financial Field Saturday night to see the Philadelphia Union play their first ever home game. I, along with VP Joe Biden, was in attendance.(We didn’t go together) It was a promising start to the Union’s MLS career, as the home squad took down a 3-2 victory.

It’s impossible to imagine the MLS becoming as big as the EPL is to England, La Liga is to Spain, or Serie A is to Italy, but I was surprised to see such a strong showing Saturday night. It was a nice event to be a part of and I can see myself going back. If you’re a mainstream sports fan, I suggest you prepare yourself for a little different scene. The fans are just as aggressive and have some pretty sweet chants. (At least the United fans do) My particular favorite was “F#ck you Ref!”

If you are an up and coming soccer fan and have an MLS team near you, I would recommend checking it out. I’m just giving the MLS some due respect.

… check out the goalie’s gaffe at 3:30…. GOAL SHAVING!

That’s a pretty sweet trick and all, but what the fuck is that guy doing in the back? It looks like he’s in some sort of trance. Is he telekinetic and assisting his friend’s trick? I say yes.

Lefty and Watson start off strong. Phil must be wondering what it’s going to be like to not have to play catch-up going forward. Oh yeah, Tiger played decent too.
