Am I an idiot, or is this just not true?
A very important player in a very important basketball game once went 3 for 18. He took eight three-pointers and missed every one of them. His team lost by 35 points. History does not remember him as a choker or afraid or not quite ready for the throne, even though he had this game on the largest stage — in the NBA Finals. No, history remembers him as Michael Jordan.
Le Batard’s mixing and matching here. Jordan’s had a game where he was 0-8 from downtown, but it wasn’t in a game his team lost by 35 points. And Jordan’s never lost a finals game by 35 points. And he’s never shot 3-18 in a Finals game. I think Le Batard is thinking of John Starks (2-18, I know).
Do my Internet skills suck, or is Le Batard making stuff up?
