ozzie-guillen-choke

I love me some Ozzie.  The White Sox manager recently hinted that the Sox intentionally hit Marlins outfielder Brett Carroll after Carroll stole a base in the fourth inning and the Marlins up 7-0.

“This is baseball, you have to respect,” Guillen said. “We had to do something about it, and we did.”

Marlins manager Fredi Gonzalez said Carroll “missed a signal” and was not supposed to be running.

Guillen was not amused by his take of the situation, though.

“Especially when the team is last in hitting and runs scored in the American League,” Guillen said of his own team. “With an eight-run (actually seven-run) lead, they think we’re going to come back next inning?”

Eh, it was the fourth inning, and the Marlins pen LOVES giving up runs.  I don’t think you can really fault a guy for running in the fourth – especially against an American League team that can put up numbers in a hurry.  Ozzie doesn’t agree, obviously, and he’s never been one to hide his opinions or emotions when it comes to how well (or poorly) his team is performing.  He reminds me of that fantasy baseball manager who is always down on his squad and whines throughout the day about how none of his guys hit.  So yeah, he reminds me of myself.
