With all the stuff in the media about performance enhancing supplements it’s hard not to raise an eyebrow. If this fight does go down it better be the best fight ever. Sheesh.

Check out Andy Samberg running from the po-pos.  I’m sure by now you’ve read about the Phillies fan that ran on the field last night and was tased.  I’m not sure if this is going to be some hot-button issue about police brutality, but either way, I’m not really sure how I feel about it.  I mean, on one hand, you can’t have fans running onto the field, no matter how goofy and harmless they may look.  It’s one thing to disrupt the game, but it’s not fair to the players out there trying to to their jobs.  Plus it’s a royal pain in the ass for cops to chase these guys down in front of thousands of people, so tasing is a pretty good punishment and/or deterrent.

But on the other hand, I’m not a real big fan of cops getting much leeway in terms of subduing someone who is unarmed (yes, they have no way of knowing for sure, but Andy Samberg here would be packing a bowl instead of packing heat).  A lot of cops (not all, relax) are simply bullies from high school who sat around and watched the kids they picked on become educated and successful, and so now they use their badges as a means of grasping onto whatever power they once had.  Allowing these meatheads to wield tasers in the first place seems kind of unfair.  So really, you can see how I’m torn on this.

In the end, though, I’m gonna side with the cops – but only because this happened in Philly.  In fact, maybe let the cops use their guns.

This is a pretty amazing jump by UAB uber-athlete and new Viking Joe Webb, but it’s not like we haven’t seen anything like this before. What I love about the video, though, is the reaction of the spectators after Joe nails this jump.

But in all honesty, it’s kind of sad for me to watch knowing that no matter what I do in life, nobody will ever be as excited or impressed as these spectators were. Maybe if someone shot an arrow off my head or something, but it certainly wouldn’t be in response to anything I did athletically.

Dolphins_Cheerleaders_2

Being a cheerleader isn’t all fun and games and making dudes drool.  OK, well maybe it is.  But that doesn’t mean that can’t take their act on the road and make some guys who are working really hard smile for a bit.   The Dolphins cheerleaders visited Haiti recently and the tour stopped at several military camps in the Port-au-Prince area and boosted moral with laughter and dance.

Something tells me it was more with dance than laughter.  I for one question these visits.  Clearly these guys aren’t getting laid often over there.  Wouldn’t this then just increase sexual frustration thus making these guys that much more upset once the cheerleaders leave?

I’m just saying.  Pictures of the ladies after the jump

david_stern_01

Would you trust anything David Stern says?  Yeah, me neither.

CLEVELAND — NBA commissioner David Stern knows Cleveland fans are anxious about this summer and LeBron James’ pending free agency. He is rooting for the same outcome as Cavaliers fans.

“Hopefully he’ll stay,” Stern said Monday before Game 2 between Cleveland and Boston in the Eastern Conference semifinals. “That’s the way the system is designed.”

Ha, good one, David.  You almost had me there.  Why anyone who was essentially in charge of the NBA would want the best and most prominent player since Michael Jordan to stay out of New York or Chicago and instead stay in Cleveland is beyond me, and I guess Stern is no exception.  I mean, it’s not like we’re talking about a guy who is so hungry for money and television ratings that he’d let the refs totally dictate the course of a given game so that it leads to a huge betting scandal, or fix the first ever NBA Lottery so that the New York Knicks got the first pick overall, or promote a game where rap music is blasted over arena speakers during actual gameplay.  It’s not like he’s that type of guy.

Oh, wait.

The funny thing about this is this moron is probably going to end up suing somebody for this incident. Being tasered from 10 feet away is pretty sweet though. Ry How found is amusing!
