Admittedly, this is a pretty sweet move (especially the finish) and it was during a pretty pivotal and important game, but Robin Lopez is acting like he just saw that one Shawn Kemp dunk where Kemp cups the ball and dunks on (I think) Chris Gatling. When Gatling falls to the ground, Kemp points at him with both fingers before trotting off. If that were the play Robin saw, then this would be an appropriate reacting. I may even call it holding back. But that reaction for this move just makes Robin look like a douchebag.

Zaragova_Cheerleaders_9

Do you guys remember this squad?  You should as I did a piece on them about two months ago.  Not only am I still impressed with their cheerleading skills, it would appear that they’ve added lap dancing and flexibility to their routine.

Honestly that can’t be all good for team Zaragoza.   How in the hell does one concentrate and prepare for a hoops game with all that ass walking around like that?  Cheerleaders are a great thing for entertainment but I just see no positives with them as a player.

Then again, it could be motivation to play better.  All hot girls love a star.

Czech Republic US Soccer

Not much to get excited about if you’re the US team after last night. Not only did they lose 4-2 to the Czech Republic, they now face 7 cuts to get the roster down to the Fifa limit of 23. The defense looked shaky all around struggling to clear the ball on several occasions. Not to mention, Onyewu, who played in his first game since tearing his left patellar tendon, didn’t look so hot being out-jumped by a guy 3 inches smaller than him on one of the Czech goals.

The United States will have a good feel for their roster after Bradley has individual meetings today. From there, they will go to ESPN in Bristol, CT to introduce the squad and then to the White House to meet President Obama. They will play a final tune-up before leaving for South Africa in Philadelphia vs. Turkey this Saturday.

Granted the United States played without the likes of stars Landon Donovan, Clint Dempsey, and Jozy Altidore, but as I mentioned before giving up 4 goals to a “ehh” Czech Republic team is somewhat alarming. In a game where bubble players needed to shine very few did. A few guys, however, did look pretty sharp including Maurice Edu and Edson Buddle.

We’ll get the final announcement today at 1:20 pm on ESPN.

In a recent interview on WFAN New York, ex-Gm and ex-ESPN employee Steve Phillips stated that if the Nationals were to inquire about Roy Oswalt the Astros should ask for Stephen Strasburg. Well, that’s not going to happen. Fortunately, Phillips did say he didn’t think it would happen, but the simple fact he brought this up is evidence he is losing his mind. He said this about Strasburg and the deal…

Listen, (Strasburg) was a good college pitcher, he’s a good minor league pitcher so far,” Phillips tells host Mike Francesa. “But if I can get one of the top, what, top five starting pitchers in the game today for Strasburg? Because I really, truly, I hope that (Strasburg) could be that guy. I have to tell you, I don’t know that he could be that guy. And with his delivery, I could see the potential of a Mark Prior(notes) sort of breakdown.

Dude, Strasburg was drafted as the chosen one. The face of the franchise. His stuff is legitimately disgusting and he’s dusting Triple A players right now. He just gave up his first run recently. I mean, so far, he’s living up to the hype. Newsflash, Oswalt is 33 years old and his numbers last year could indicate the start of a decline.

Every dude that was ever drafted runs the risk of getting injured so to stake that claim against Strasburg is stupid too. You don’t trade away the potential best pitcher IN THE GAME and mortgage your future. The Nationals aren’t realistically trying to win TODAY. They have played well, but they have started to develop a young core of talented players and Strasburg is right in the middle of it.

I guess I need to calm down. He did acknowledge it they wouldn’t do it. He did do that…. It’s ok, he knows it’s a dumb suggestion right? I don’t know, I just can’t be sure anymore he did tell Brooke Hundley (above) she was a dime piece and banged her.

Because there aren’t already too many people getting in my way on a daily basis:

The New Meadowlands Stadium, the $1.6 billion jewel co-owned by the New York Giants and Jets, will host the 2014 Super Bowl, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell announced Tuesday afternoon at the league’s spring meeting.

“It’s a historic moment for the league,” Goodell said.

Well, hopefully the world will end in December 2012 like the Mayans say it will because I certainly don’t want to be around for a Super Bowl in New York.  And I’m not even talking about the shitty weather or the general entitlement of New Yorkers.  No, it’s simply because I can’t imagine a weekend when tens of thousands of people flock to New York.  It’s already bad enough as it is, what with tourists who have no idea they are even alive wandering on the sidewalks and getting in my way.  You can hardly fucking walk down the street and a normal pace because it’s always so packed.  I honestly can’t think of a worse place to be than New York for Super Bowl 2014.

For some reason, this really cracks me up:

ARLINGTON, Texas — A bankruptcy filing by the Rangers reveals the team owes Alex Rodriguez $24.9 million in deferred compensation dating to his days with the team.

The tam filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection Monday in hopes of spurring completion of the $575 million sale of the team by midsummer to a group of investors that includes Hall of Fame pitcher Nolan Ryan.

The 21-page filing includes a list of unsecured creditors headed by the current Yankees third baseman, who was traded by Texas to New York in 2003.

People are always looking for new reasons to hate A-Rod (especially since they can’t use the “choker” argument anymore), so this should help plenty.  I mean, it’s not nearly as awesome as hating him for running across a mound, but it’s still pretty good.  Of all the doucehbags to owe money to, you’ve gotta think it stings just a tad bit more for the Rangers when it turns out that A-Rod is a creditor.  Just look at his picture.  How would you feel about giving that guy money?
