I had to give my boy Andrew McCutchen some love after his performance on Friday night (5/5 5 Runs, 1 Hr, 2 SBs). Luckily, I came across this video. The timing is almost remarkable between both players. We all knew Deion could fly, now we know McCutchen can too…

Cristiano-Ronaldo-Kim-Kardashian

Portugal’s Cristiano Ronaldo has been warned not to let his love life interfere with this Summer’s World Cup. Portugal’s Head Coach Carlos Queiroz has warned Ronaldo after he had learned that both Paris Hilton and Kim Kardashian are considering making the trip to South Africa……

“Queiroz knows Cristiano is responsible and a great professional who is totally committed to the team,” a source close to the Portugal camp told Yahoo! Sports. “He knows Cristiano is an adult and also appreciates that his life is under the spotlight. But this is the World Cup and it needs to be just about the game. Queiroz is planning to have a quiet word with him to make sure there is no distraction.”

Dude, the Group of Death, Kim Kardashian, and Paris Hilton! What a World Cup! This should be really interesting to see if both of these idiots go to South Africa for the same guy. I can’t wait until we see one of them in the stands wearing a Ronaldo Portugal Jersey a la Jessica Simpson. Someone should probably tell them that the United States has a team in the competition too…..

Charger_Girl_Auditions_2

It would appear they take things extremely seriously over in Charger land in San Diego.   The preliminary auditions for the cheering squad took place recently and over 400 females showed up to compete.

Not only that, someone wound up taking 1132 photos of the event.  Yes, over one thousand pictures have been recorded.  If you want to see the entire gallery then you can visit this psycho’s flickr page.

Otherwise I can save you time because I’ve sifted through them all and chose about a dozen I know you’ll like….

At least he has the good sense to fire his manager in person this time around.  From Metsmerized Online:

According to a tweet via David Lennon of Newsday, Omar Minaya will be making an unscheduled flight with the team to Atlanta for their series with the Braves, although the decision was not made during today’s game.

I may be reading too much into this, but Jerry Manuel has been on the proverbial hot seat of late, and the team has lacked the life and enthusiasm that seemed so prevalent only two weeks ago when the Mets were riding high and sitting temporarily in first place.

Enjoy the power while it lasts, Omar, because there’s no way you’re still gonna have a job come July.  Omar’s a lot more to blame for the mess that is the Mets than Jerry, that’s for sure.  No manager could help this team right now.  I thought the wheels would have come off earlier, but the Mets shitting the bed was inevitable.  David Wright bails out at the sight of any breaking pitch and has struck out in something like, um, every game in a row.  Reyes is essentially a poor man’s Nyjer Morgan at this point, and Carlos Beltran is just learning how to change his tampon by himself.  It’s pathetic all around, and Jerry’s not to blame.  Omar made this giant mess, he’s the one who should be held responsible.  So unless he’s planning on hiring Gandalf to take over, his days as GM are numbered.

In a game filled with prima donnas, it’s nice to see that some players can admit when they’re the ones who have fucked up. Rather than place the blame on someone else, Glen Davis takes full responsibility for his actions.

I’ve always wanted a player to be mike’d up during gameplay in the NBA, because the amount of shit talking is off the charts. I was lucky enough to sit on the floor for a Sonics-Heat game years ago, and Gary Payton didn’t stop talking the entire game. It was awesome. And I probably heard the N-word more times during that game than I have in my entire life.

Irony just threw up on itself.

NEW YORK — Commissioner Bud Selig was named the first recipient of Taylor’s Award, presented by the Taylor Hooton Foundation to an individual who has made a major impact on efforts to educate and protect American youth from the dangers of using performance-enhancing drugs.

Amazing.  I think the sole reason I considered doing steroid and HGH is simply because it made baseball players superhuman for so many years while Selig looked the other way.  It’s really astonishing to think that Selig is being rewarded when, in fact, he’s probably done more to promote and encourage the use of PEDs than any other person in history.  Wow.

It’s not quite on the same level, but this is almost analogous to Obama winning the Nobel Peace Prize.  No, not because Obama hasn’t done anything to warrant it, but because he’s employing the same tactics and tortuous interrogation techniques on prisoners in Gitmo as Bush did.  So we’re clear:

Selig : promoting PEDs and getting an award from an anti-PED foundation :: Obama : continuing to deny prisoners in Gitmo the right to an attorney and allowing them to be tortured : getting the Nobel Peace Prize

This is indisputable, do not retort.

Everyone is saying Lebron to Chicago. I’m not seeing it. It would be impossible to eclipse MJ’s feats. That’s a battle he cannot win. Why would he want to be under that shadow for the rest of his career?

It probably isn’t wise to heckle a goal scorer of RUUD’s ability. This is that circumstance when at the time you think it’s funny, little did you contemplate the potential pwnage that could occur in the end. This is hilarious. I love the two hands up in slow motion celebration, worth the yellow card and then some!
