80824393JB048_The_Memorial_

Yeah yeah, I know I’m a hater. Whatever. I watched some of this weekend’s Memorial to see Lefty and the Sex Addict and ended up being distracted by my newest target Ricky Fowler. It’s not so much that I care about the outrageous outfits, there’s just something amiss here. I really like Anthony Kim, and Rory McIlroy, but there’s just something that rubs me the wrong way about young Ricky. You have to see his website.

Golf is a game rich with tradition, and this unspoken code of respect. Yet, this “young laid back Californian” seems to be skipping that part. Golf doesn’t need a new wave of player trying to be rock star and cool. That’s just not how golf works. I can’t see this making a lot of noise, and Ricky shouldn’t be pissed because I am giving his website a shout. Dude just needs to chill out the Zoolander shit.

fenway park

Scottish side Celtic will play Sporting Lisbon of Portugal at Fenway Park on July 21st in an International Club Friendly. Not a bad move, there will finally be some good sports viewing in Fenway this summer.

Celtic played there and was defeated by the New York Yankees (of the American Soccer League) in 1931. Not a real shocker to see another Yankees victory at Fenway.

Maybe one of the clubs will steal Jonathan Papelbon and take him back to Europe. Doubtful, America hasn’t been that lucky of late.

Thanks, I’m here all week.

Colts_Cheereladers_1

I know that the Colts Cheerleaders made an appearance at the Golf FORE kids classic yesterday.  Those pictures haven’t become available yet.   And these ladies appear to be busy little bees.  It ain’t just the NFL season that’s got them moving their pom poms.  It’s charity’s and even private parties.

It’s a hell of a workload for these girls.  Back to the point though.  These pictures?  I have no clue where or when they were taken and frankly I know that neither you or I really care all that much do we?  Nah.

They’re solid pictures though….

The Manayunk Bike Race cruised through the streets of Philadelphia Sunday. It’s the largest rode race in the United States. It rolls through the streets of Manayunk every year in early June and not only world class bikers a chance to compete, but your average Joe a chance to drink, hang out, and potentially get laid. It’s a pretty sweet party scene. When I was a young buck I used to take Monday off drink my balls off and pass out before sundown. It’s a great event that draws thousands of people and hundreds of pretty sundresses. The video above is the ridiculous “Wall” the bikers have to take down 10 times to complete the race. This wall is no fuggin joke, it’s steep as hell. We’d be off our bikes pushing them up the hill. It’s a nice little event. If you are interested in reading more here’s the link. Ok I did my job, I’m done promoting.

Click on photo to read more about Ray Allen’s big night

Ray Allen is one of the only guys I like in this series. I’m sure the NBA thought the big Lakers v. Celtics would draw more attention. Oh well….

UCLA_Cheerleaders_8

It’s just one of those things like eating or sleeping.  It’s automatic.  It’s a virtual lock that every single season UCLA is going to bring the pain with their cheerleaders.  Hell we posted these girls only three months ago but I think I should up the frequency to at least once per month.

I mean come on.  Can’t we all just get a little UCLA magic in our laps?

I’m speechless at this point.  More ladies after the jump

TENNIS-FRA-OPEN-ROLAND-GARROS

If you want to talk about an athlete dominating a sport look no further than Rafael Nadal. Alright, there’s an asterisk with this one because we’re not talking about the entire sport of tennis, but we are talking about domination. So much so that Andy Roddick posted on twitter….

rafa nadal best ever on clay…. period.

Nadal has supplanted Roger Federer as the world’s number one tennis player. I think it’s safe to say I agree with Rafa when he says he’s back. Meanwhile, the other tennis players in the world are thrilled to see the clay season end. Nadal owns the clay. He’s 38-1 at Roland Garros. 38-1. He just won his 5th French Open Title at the age of 24, 1 shy of Bjorn Borg’s record of six. This is also the second time in three years Nadal won the French without losing a set.

Nadal is an interesting story. He admits to having a rough year last year with injury and partly due to his parents separation. He’s been around so long it’s easy to forget he’s still a kid, but this kid is as dominant of a player on clay as you will see in any sport.

Jordan

There was a lot of news this weekend in the world of sports. Why is did this make the news? Who cares? People who do sports reporting never cease to amaze me. Michael Jordan was in attendance, with a Blackhawks jersey on, for Game 5 of the Stanley Cup in Chicago. The rub; it was the same night as the NBA finals……. and he’s an owner!

Who….. cares. This story is going to be spun in a million different ways. Carolina Hurricane fans feel betrayed. Jordan still loves Chicago and secretly wants to be back with the Bulls. The dude just took in a Stanley Cup Finals game. That’s it! He doesn’t need to be scouting the finals. I’m sure he doesn’t give a shit who wins. He knows Kobe will never be recognized as better than him. I bet he doesn’t even like Paul Pierce. For Jordan, the highlights will probably suffice.

Jordan was at the Blackhawks game. Drama drama drama. Reporters crack me up sometimes.
