South Africa Soccer WCup England US

The Jabulani World Cup ball has now become quite the hot topic. First, it was Robert Green of England. Then it was Algeria’s Faouzi Chaouchi. Two epic gaffes in two days. The reasoning? The soccer ball. It’s an adidas Jabulani that has been on the pitch for months with little complaint. Adidas claims it’s the most accurate ball ever made. What the hell does that mean?

I was never one to blame the equipment. Well, sometimes I would stare at the golf ball or the ground suggesting blame, but in my head I knew it was on me. A soccer ball is a soccer ball right? Well, perhaps for a layman. Players are claiming the ball is moving in the air and bouncing awkwardly. Ok, I can let that marinate in my head.

We all saw Green’s mistake on Dempsey’s weak shot. He should have saved that ball, and didn’t. He’s owned up to it quite admirably actually. I, however, didn’t see Chaouchi’s effort until later. [Video] This was a little tougher chance, but the goaltender still should have had it. The Algerian goalie was later seen in tears during postgame and on the bus because of the mishap.

We will see how this story plays out the rest of the World Cup. At the end of the day, you and I both know blaming the ball isn’t going to cut it.

The collision between goalie Tim Howard and England’s Emile Heskey was a violent one. Howard described it as “agony”. Coach Bob Bradley isn’t sure whether or not the ribs are broken. Howard did finish the match, and was named “Man of the Match”.

Howard plans on playing against Slovenia on Friday. He’s described the past 24 hours as just being really sore. Howard has waited for this moment for 4 years, broken or not I expect him to be out there. He is the heart and soul of the United States team. The match vs. Slovenia is absolutely vital for the US, and the US needs Tim Howard in goal.

See not all of Soccer is magical. It’s not all hot babes, and exciting action. Shit does go down in soccer. The worst is the chick had to get medical attention. It’s just a soccer ball… jeez and crackers!

The World Cup is underway. Some people have been waiting for this moment for 4 years. There should be some great storylines over the next couple of weeks. Here’s news from the start of day 1

Drogba doubtful for opener, currently training alone
Relative of Nelson Mandela killed in accident
Altidore ankle feels better
Arjen Robben rejoins Dutch Squad
Argentina’s fitness coach says Messi is tired

CU Football

The University of Colorado as accepted an invitation to participate in the Pac-10. For those of you who aren’t aware, the Buffaloes were part of the Big XII. Don’t feel bad if you didn’t know that, it’s not like they’re killing it in any sports.

Early indications would suggest that this could boost the record of both the football and basketball team. Hold your horses, there is speculation that things might really get shaken up with Texas, Oklahoma, Texas Tech, and Oklahoma State leaving the Big XII and making the Pac-10 a Super Conference. Colorado must be pumped their buddies may follow them!

Nebraska should be on it’s way out today to the Big Ten. RIP Big XXII!

Nope, we’re not talking about upstate NY here,  we’re talking about the International Basketball League’s Albany Legends.  God knows an upstate New York team wouldn’t be able to put together a cheering squad like this.  At least I would highly doubt it.

It’s a shame I couldn’t find that many pictures of these gals for you guy but I did manage to find over 5.  So that’s at least comforting to know.  I won’t drag on any longer.

Ok, so you’ve boozed your balls off all weekend. You feel like shit. We are full service here at Unathletic. Here’s a few ways to help your cause

1.) The key to a hangover is dehydration. It’s the cause of ALL you’re problems. Gatorade, Water, drink your balls off until your pee is clear. Avoid coffee and tea it just dehydrates you more. Note: Your nausea could be caused by dehydration.

2.) The amazing banana milkshake. I know it sounds gross but it’s pretty good. If you’re hanging blend two bananas, milk and some honey.. it’s the perfect remedy. Bananas restore electrolytes that have been depleted, milk coats your tummy, and the honey restores blood sugar levels. IT WORKS!

3.) You need to sleep. You obviously can’t nap, but if you can you must. Get to bed early. Your body needs to recover and needs rest because we all know you don’t get legit sleep when you’re wasted

4.) Get some vitamin C. It helps break down the alcohol in your system and also boosts your immune system.

Good Luck Champ!
