Jennifer Scherman of Argentina was crowned Miss World Cup 2010 at a pageant in Rust, Germany this week ahead of the official kick off in South Africa. Let’s give her a big round of applause shall we?
And let us give another big around of applause to the other 32 contestant from around the globe that participated in the contest. Little did they know the consolation prize would be to watch the world cup in my living room with me. The damned board still hasn’t received my letter yet? What the hell man?
In any event, the ladies shined in their bathing suits, evening wear, and most importantly push up bras. It was a fine beginning to soccer’s biggest event.

I can’t believe this video only has 150,000 views!! This is classic for so many reasons. (1) You see the kid running early on in the video (2) Everyone puts their hands on their head in astonishment the kid got drilled (3) The kid took an epic wipeout after getting beaned. Awesome video. I’m sure you’ve scene it before, but it’s always a pleasure to see again.

I’ll admit I have been cynical about this whole thing. The hype is ridiculous, and it seems as if there is nowhere to go but down, but hell I’ll get on the boat. This kid is going to be elite for a long time if he stays healthy. What’s great is he’s an attraction. An attraction for Washington, and visiting parks around the country. I’m with it.

Earlier today we posted our World Cup predictions. For those of you who have trouble reading, here are some of the predictions in BODY PAINT!
I don’t have too many reasons to be going to Oklahoma these days but the Tulsa Talons just might be a solid excuse. It’s nice to see football games where the over under sometimes exceeds 100 pts, and more importantly it’s nice to see some of the local girls wearing very little clothing and dancing for the crowd.
Other than that I don’t see many great reasons to visit the great city of Tulsa. Nothing against Tulsa. I’m sure it’s a wonderful place but you know, it’s Tulsa. Man I have to come up with some better material if I’m going to keep this job.

That magical time is upon us my friends. We are within days of the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. Hopefully, everything goes over smoothly and we can simply enjoy the greatness of the event. The USA should, repeat, should make it out of their Group, and then who knows what. Look for traditional powers to be there at the end. Interesting note…. No Northern Hemisphere team has ever won a World Cup when it has been hosted in the Southern Hemisphere (Courtesy of Eds). Here are Unathletics predictions for Winner and Leading Scorer….
2010 World Cup Winner
I’m going to buck the trend here and go with in-form Spain. Team is lethal and I like their path to the championship. Other teams that were carefully considered were Brazil and Argentina (Southern Hemisphere), and my personal choice the Netherlands. Spain wins.

One of my favorite highlight videos of all time. Surely, Jordan made Pippen better, but how f’in good was Scottie. I know Kobe is playing in the championship now, and Lebron is a big free agent, but don’t lose sight of who was the greatest. Jordan would eat your heart. God Basketball used to be awesome……

I don’t feel bad for the kid because he’s rich, but there’s really nowhere to go from here but down a la Mark Prior. I like to see that the Nats are sold out tonight vs. the Buccos. Like the young team they are starting to build with the drafting of Bryce Harper, who may be the league’s next biggest d-bag from the looks of it.
