Jesse Jackson, in his infinite wisdom, confused one man’s total spaz out with one of the greatest injustices in the history of the world. Y!Sports reported that Jesse Jackson said Dan Gilbert of the Cleveland Cavaliers saw Lebron James as a “runaway slave”.

He speaks as an owner of LeBron and not the owner of the Cleveland Cavaliers,” the reverend said in a release from his Chicago-based civil rights group, the Rainbow PUSH Coalition. “His feelings of betrayal personify a slave master mentality. He sees LeBron as a runaway slave. This is an owner employee relationship—between business partners—and LeBron honored his contract.

Well, this is a tad extreme if you ask me. Lebron James wasn’t working on slave wages Rev. Jackson. Slavery isn’t something you just toss around to make a point in this case. Everybody knows, Dan Gilbert, who is probably a huge asshole, was in the midst of an epic spaz out and was looking to hurt Lebron’s feelings. The guy was trying his best to fire up Cleveland fans and at the same time, insult the shit out of Lebron. Well, he failed at both.

I see no reason to make this a racial issue. Lebron James ran Cleveland. He was highly compensated. If Lebron James is a slave, then I’m somewhere equivalent to a horse that pulls carriages around New York CIty all day. No wonder Tim Frank declined comment. Just let Dan Gilbert spaz out, it’s pure comedy.
