Pabst Blue Ribbon, also known as PBR to the college kids, is one of the cheapest nastiest beers in the United States of America. It runs about $14 a case and is rarely even talented enough to make the beer pong table falling a distant second to Natural Light. Well, not in China my friends. PBR has gone to new heights. Blue Ribbon 1844 is to the Chinese a “world famous spirit”. Ummm, check please.
The good news is that this isn’t the same shit in the cans we get at the local beer distributor. It’s actually an all-malt specialty beer and aged in uncharred American whiskey barrels. It’s place in the nice brown bottle shown above. It almost seems appealing at this point. PBR has China on lock down as the specialty beer these days. Good for them, that’s like some ugly dude banging a perfect 10 model.
