The 2010 World Cup is down to the semi-finals. Unathletic did respectable with our quarterfinal picks. We nailed Germany, failed on Brazil. We’re still feeling pretty confident so we’re going to lay out semi-final predictions…
Game 1: Netherlands vs. Uruguay, Tuesday, 7/6/2010 @ 2:30 PM
It’s hard to turn on Uruguay at this point. They have been tremendous and many would say they have overachieved valiantly. The loss of Suarez is crippling. Not underestimating their opponent, the Dutch end Uruguay’s run. The Dutch have quietly been one of, if not the, best teams all tournament. They have played consistent soccer and at a decent price they are the pull here. This team is just far too talented and have shown they can adjust their style of play. The Under as a bonus side bet. The Dutch advance to the Final.
Game 2: Spain vs. Germany, Wednesday, 7/7/2010 @ 2:30 PM
This is going to be epic. I’ll cut straight to the point. Spain, although they have played tough defenses, have had trouble finding the back of the net. Germany has been the most successful team at doing so. It’s all about who gets hot at the right time, right? Germany showed they have the perfect blend of offense and defense against Argentina. Germany is the play here. Play Germany until they let you down, they haven’t led me astray yet. Take them at a slight underdog price to the bank.

The honest truth? I just got back from vacation and have absolutely nothing to write at this moment. I just wanted to share some hotties from the Brisbane Broncos squad. Is that OK? Good. Thanks.
Here you go….

Phillies seem to be snake bitten this year. They still have a shot, but I’m thinking the Mets or Braves could finally knock them off their perch atop the NL East.

Who ever thought dodgeball would serve a purpose. This is the second video I’ve posted on Unathletic (Dodgeball Annihilation), and it seemingly gets funnier every time! Why would you elect to play with a ball that is bigger than some of the kids in the game?! How the hell was this little fella suppose to catch this thing. Totally blindsided, yet still awesome

The term “Max Contract” is being said so much these days I’m beginning to think I should get one. Rudy Gay just got one for his work, and it seems as if there will be several more to come in the next few weeks. Here is a break down of what a “Max Contract” is….

Given that July 4th is coming up I thought it’d be appropriate to do something somewhat patriotic today. I had no idea this was even legal but there’s actually a cheerleading team for hired called the “USA Cheerleaders.“ I’m being 100% serious here.
It’s basically a squad of hotties who do events, parties, you name it. Hell they even have their own swimsuit calendar and recently just finished doing auditions. I’m as stunned as you are. The true all American cheerleading team. How about that?

Alright, lets get it done here. Here our Unathletic’s money picks for World Cup 2010 Quaterfinals….
Game 1: Netherlands vs. Brazil, Friday 7/2 @ 10:00 AM
Will the long balls work for the Netherlands against Brazil? I am pulling for them, but Brazil should advance at a tidy price. See Argentina game and you will know why I am forced to pick Brazil here.
Game 2: Uruguay vs. Ghana, Friday 7/2 @ 2:30 PM
This game looks like a low scoring beat down of a game. I would love to say a draw for this game would be the bet, but I can’t bring myself to bet a draw. 1-0 Uruguay. At even money, Uruguay has been in exceptional form. Ghana, and Africa are eliminated.
Game 3: Argentina vs. Germany, Saturday 7/3 @ 10:00 AM
Germany is in form. Argentina is in form. No northern hemisphere team has ever won a World Cup when it’s been in the southern hemisphere. With Brazil winning, this is my upset. Germany is the pick here at a heck of a price of +230. Tactically, this is a tough match up for Argentina.
Game 4: Spain vs. Paraguay, Saturday 7/3 @ 2:30 PM
This is the heaviest chalk of the quarters and by rights it should be. Paraguay is a damn good team, but Spain, although not pretty, have gotten through so far and will continue to do so. Spain at a pick is a heavy price, but shouldn’t let you down.
