Look alikes are by far one of my favorite things to come across and I had to share this one.  I mean this is pretty dead on is it not?  And no it’s not a black thing.  Yes, it’s a “they look like brothers” thing but no, not a black thing.

How many times can I say “black thing” before it sounds racist?  I just want to see if I can get away with it and still call this a sports article.  I mean why not?  Doc Gooden was a pitcher and Jay Z has a vested interest in the Nets.

Works for me.  Yay or nay on the look alike call?

I like the young fella. Very good golfer. Shot a helluva first round. Other notes… Tiger trying to win over the hearts of the people wearing pink. He’s also in the hunt.

This video has gotten 2 million views. I, obviously, am not one of the 2 million until now. I’m not even sure where to start here. Once again, I hope this was just fake and this dude was a great actor. Unfortunately, I think this dude is troubled beyond repair. Ever since I started writing for Unathletic there have been several videos I have just watched in awe saying “What the fuck” in my head. This guy scares the shit out of me. This still isn’t funnier than Leeroy Jenkins, however.

Much to our surprise the 2010 MLB All-Star raked in the lowest ratings in the history of it’s televised existence. Y! Sports dropped the actual numbers and they were low. I’ll admit, I watched a little of the game and then turned it off and went to bed without any conflict. It’s hard to explain why the game just isn’t popular, but it’s not necessarily MLB’s fault. One thing is for sure, no one thinks playing for home field advantage in the All-Star game is a good idea.

If you think about All-Star games in professional sports you have the following; MLB which just laid an egg in ratings, The Pro Bowl which gets less views Jon and Kate Plus 8, NHL which I’m not sure if they still even play an All-Star Game, and the NBA which is an alley-00p contest. All-Star Games just don’t get it done for fans. There isn’t an incentive out there that can make these games awesome.

With that said, Olympic Hockey, the World Baseball Classic, and even Olympic Basketball to a lesser degree get good ratings. For now, the All-Star Games will just be what they’ll be. The flavor of the moment are the international event games. As an aside, A-Rod thinks the ratings are the lowest because he didn’t play.

Edmonton_Eskimos_Cheerleaders_3

I wonder what life is like in the CFL?  Seriously.  Are all these guys trying to make it in the NFL?  I think if it were me and I was a star in that league only to know I’d be shit in the NFL I’d stay.  It’s kind of like being a stud actor in China where you are revered only to find out that you’re auditioning everywhere in the U.S. and you can barely get work.

The older I get the more I realize that sometimes it’s best to just be happy.  I mean isn’t it enough to be a God in a certain town?  Do you really have to try and conquer the world?  Hell I’m not saying any player on the Edmonton Eskimos is this way.   i think I’m just ranting in general.  I mean who needs to get more when you’ve got it all in one place?

This has nothing to do with the cheerleaders of the Eskimos by the way.  But so what?

steinbrenner

With the passing of George Steinbrenner and me having just watched another movie I wasn’t 100% satisfied with I couldn’t help think about owners in professional sports.  We as fans tend to put a lot of blame on players and coaches when it comes to a team sucking.  We fail to remember that success usually starts from the top, not the bottom.

Just like any successful company, a pro team is generally the same way.  After all the owner is the first true architect of a team.   So if you get really pissed at a coach or player, next time start thinking about the owner as well when your team is sucking ass.

Speaking of owners.  You know who would make great owners?  Some characters in movies.   Here are five fictional characters that should be pro sports team owners…..

I had a friend in college who started crying after Luis Gonzalez beat the Yankees with a bloop single in the 2001 World Series. I remember seeing him in the hallway with two girls rubbing his back. At the time, it seemed ok, but in retrospect that was hella weak. I can’t imagine what the reaction of this kid would have been if the Yankees lost this game. It does, however, remind you how great it is to be a kid sports fan especially at a game. It’s cute man. Why the hell someone was videotaping this kids every move at crunch time in a game is beyond me bro.
