Click more to read about the Death of the Former Yankees Owner

For all the bravado. For all the hatred for the Yankees. If you don’t respect what this man did as a businessman you’re crazy. He turned the Yankees into a $1.5B entity, after spending around $200,000 of his own money to buy them in the early 70′s. Say what you want, there has never been an owner more committed to winning, there’s never been a better owner period.

Charlotte_Ladycats__1

The pictures keep coming in from the P-R-O convention.  And the latest is giving us what the Charlotte Ladycats brought.  I mean broughten.  I mean I have no idea what I mean because I never saw that movie Bring it On.  Of course I’m lying.  What guy hasn’t seen that movie?  If you’re a male, like sports, and are heterosexual you’ve seen this movie.

Also, if you follow that above criteria you might make an effort to attend the next cheerleading convention.  That or fork up 100 bills to go to the AVN Awards which I assume most guys think is a chance to have sex with a pornstar.  I just think it’s a chance to make you realize how much you truly do masturbate.

Oh right.  Bobcats cheerleaders after the jump.  Enjoy!

A-Rod got the nod from his manager for the 2010 All-Star Game. Aside from the festivities, that was about the extent of his participation. Joe Girardi, manager of the New York Yankees, elected to leave Alex Rodriguez on the bench the entire game. Judging by A-Rod’s comments, he was probably a little bummed about not getting in, but I’m sure everyone wants a chance to play on this stage……

Joe probably decided it was best—unless he really needed me—not to use me. But it’s not my first. I was ready to go in the sixth. It would have been fun, but maybe next time.

My stance on the situation is going to be as follows; old A-Rod would have made a huge stink out of this one. New A-Rod, handled it professionally. Not many people like A-Rod. We’re talking about, at one time, one of the biggest egomaniacs in the history of sports. However, I do believe Rodriguez has made a turn for the better. Despite the fact a lot of his talk about is teammates does conjure up doubts, Alex is no where near where he use to be.

One will always question how genuine his relationship is with his fellow teammates. I think he’s in a good place. He isn’t seeking out the limelight and just wants to be a part of a team that wins. Will he be in the news because he’s an avid dater these days… Sure. That’s just fine. I know the story gets beat to death about how he’s finally in a good place mentally, but the evidence is there. A few years ago, this situation doesn’t fly. Alex Rodriguez thinks you’re crazy to bench Alex Rodriguez in an All-Star Game. Not anymore.

Great Article on Y!Sports about A-Rod

So last night during the All-Star game I was playing trivia at this bar and we decided to name our team “I don’t have heart attacks, I give them,” which I thought was appropriate in terms of giving Mr. Steinbrenner his proper tribute.  Although another team called themselves “We didn’t realize Steinbrenner had a heart” which I thought was a little distasteful  (my favorite name of the night was “Your mother is a whore Mel Gibson”).

In any event, that got me thinking about The Boss’s demise.   I don’t need to go into crazy detail about his life or anything like that.  We all know how effective George was as a manager.  He was relentless, greedy, mean at times but one thing you couldn’t ignore was the fact that he hated to lose.  So much so that it hurt other people but even so the man proved that you do what you have to do to get a W and that’s what being an owner should be all about.

Whether you liked him or not, Steinbrenner will be known for being one of if not the most influential owners in the history of sport.  Here are 5 great videos that highlight the man

I’ll be honest, I didn’t watch much of the Derby. Judging from the ratings, I wasn’t the only one. There were a few eventful moments. I knew when I was desperately hoping Will Ferrell would be funny that my heart wasn’t in it…

Dude, I’m sweet I play in this Coed Dodgeball League Tuesday and Thursday Nights. Girls love me…

Ummm, not so much. Not sure if I’m with the Coed Dodgeball Movement on weeknights after work. I don’t really enjoy seeing chicks in spandex getting beaned in the head.

Stripper_Cheerleaders_11

It’s been my contention for a long time that the line between stripping and cheerleading is getting smaller and smaller.  While I’m very excited about this I’m still a bit disappointed.  I mean shouldn’t they just take their tops off already?  What’s the point in all this teasing?  I don’t think it’s very fair and quite frankly I’m writing a letter to the board about it.

Yeah yeah, I guess I should be happy at all the advancements in sexy dancing.   Sure I can be dazzled by the outfits and the constant teasing and bending over.  But I’m also married folks.  I don’t exactly see this shit in the bedroom all that often.  Honestly I have no idea where this conversation is going.

It was supposed to start off by me mentioning this flickr user Nova70 who uploads like 10 of these a day.  He must have some stash of like 2000 skank cheerleader pictures.  God bless him.   The latest batch is after the jump
