It happens every season and it’s what makes or breaks a team in Fantasy Baseball. Either someone completely kicks ass with their draft or they get lucky combing the waiver wire. Whatever the situation it’s those players that exceed expectations that make your fantasy team a contender.
This season? Well this season there’s been plenty of surprises particularly on the offensive side. Some guys are playing way above their heads and frankly I’m sure it’s pissed of plenty of fantasy owners.
Since my team totally sucks this year I decided to take a look at ten reasons why. Here are 10 fantasy surprises on the offensive side of the MLB….
Jose Bautista

Um, who the hell is this guy? Come on folks. If there is a case of juicing this year then let’s just tip our hats to Mr. Bautista for pumping his ass full of the good stuff. Where does this guy get off having 36 home runs? Unacceptable.
Vladimir Guerrero

Vladdy daddy! Look it’s not like it’s a surprise that he’s having a great season but having THIS kind of season? It’s been 4 years since Vlad’s been this productive. And considering most people got this guy round 10 or later? He was a steal.
Aubrey Huff

Aubrey was always a good hitter. Guy has a good stroke and knows how to play the game but just like a few years ago I don’t think anyone expected this kind of production out of him.
Rickie Weeks

Dickie Weeks! Finally this guy is having himself a year. Owners have been waiting 6 season for this dude to come around. A little disappointing in steals but you can’t do much better in the 2B department than Weeks this year.
Delmon Young

Another playing that everyone’s been waiting for. He shed some weight in the offseason and seems to be getting better each week. Guy has finally figured out how to play in the big leagues.
Brett Gardner
He’s not as good as he was earlier in the year but Gardner has exceeded most fantasy expectations.
Corey Hart

Where did all this power come from Corey? And as much as I’d like to mention the sunglasses at night I’m not going to associate myself with ESPN or Bill Simmons. I just can’t do that. Still though, guy has had a great season.
Alex Rios

He’s always had the potential but this is the year Rios finally put it all together. And this guy was taken pretty late in most drafts. Whoever got him is smiling right now.
Josh Hamilton

The talent was always there but batting over .360? Not one person in the entire universe could have predicted that. Number 2 in the Y! game? No way anyone thought that’d happen.
Chris Young

One of the 20/20 guys in the league right now, Young is a little light in the avg department but the guy is clearly figuring things out. Projected to be at 186, his 28 ranking makes him worthy of this list.
Andres Torres

Who in the hell is this guy?
Bonus
Adrian Beltre – clearly he’s back on the juice.
Carlos Gonzalez – people know he’s already good though. But this high up? Pretty impressive
