USA Today published an article yesterday that informed the public that due to the advances in technology with TV and broadcasting NFL attendance is starting to dip. TV viewership is exploding as fans begin to shy away from traffic, weather, obnoxious fans, and expensive concessions. Lets be honest about something; the NFL isn’t suffering by any stretch of the imagination. We’re really splitting hairs here. It’s an interesting topic because as I sit here I have no intentions of going to a game this year. None whatsoever, and I’m totally ok with that. I ask myself…. What would change that??????

1.) Cheap, Easy Food

We’re talking about hot dogs, pretzels, popcorn, and soda. Now, obviously, some places are stepping their game up and offering chicken sandwiches etc. But why not make it cheap? The food isn’t high quality, just make it dirt cheap so fans can gorge themselves and enjoy the game. Food sales would sky rocket and people wouldn’t complain at all. They would love this,  but still don’t think it’d be enough to get me there.

2.) Get the First Down line on TV incorporated live

Technology is flourishing all around us. We could somehow get this done without destroying the integrity of the game right? Fans love the first down line. Me personally, I wouldn’t want to interfere with the true game, and think it’s on the player to know where the first down line is, thus requiring some creativity to get this done.

3.) Lets See the Cheerleaders!

When you’re at an NFL game do you EVER see the cheerleaders? Maybe I’m just not paying attention, but unless you’re in the front row you don’t see them. They don’t really lead cheers, they actually have no impact whatsoever. Now that I think about it, aside from posting pictures on blogs, what purpose do they serve? Get them involved people!

4.) We Need Around the League Highlights and Scores Constantly Streaming

Dude it’s the fantasy football era. We need up to the minute stats and highlights. Make this happen! Put computers on the back of every seat. Every section should be streaming stats and touchdowns.

5.) Have a Drinking and Non-Drinking Section!

Think about it! It’s genius. The stadium will know where to put security, and all the beer venders. The people who complain about sitting next to a drunk idiot will never complain again! Granted one section would be rowdy and the other pretty mundane, but hell, it works! This way if I wanna go crazy I’ll sit in the drinking section. If I want to just chill and catch the game I’ll sit with the normal people. They did it for smoking!!
