The image you see above is what Michael Phelps consumes on a daily basis when he is training. Looks pretty good doesn’t it? I recently linked an article about Mike Tyson’s diet on the Press and all he ate was steak and pasta. When you are training hardcore you can eat a ton of calories and your body will use them all. Phelps’ diet was over 10,000 calories of pasta’s, french toast, sandwiches, egg sandwiches, pizza and more. Here are some more peculiar eating habits of athletes……
1.) Prince Fielder – Vegetarian

Prince decided to go veggie after reading Skinny Bitch by Rory Freedman and Kim Barnouin, which was given to him by his wife. This diet has had zero affect on Prince. He hasn’t lost any weight, and his power numbers seem to be there. They’d probably be higher if he was hitting up a steak every now and then.
2.) Chad Ochocinco – McDonald’s and More McDonald’s

Chad makes no mystery of the fact he loves McDonald’s and it’s all he eats. From Hard Knocks to Tweeting to whatever else Chad publicizes, his love affair with the fast food joint is pretty obvious. He was quoted as saying that if he was drug tested it would be McDonald’s and Red Bull. The fact he can stay in that good of shape on that junk.. damn, God bless him.
3.) Lamar Odom’s Infatuation With Candy
This is not good for you. I know this much. He plays bball all the time so he’s not going to get fat, but his teeth.. diabetes even. This can’t be good in the long run.
4.) Caron Butler and Mountain Dew

Caron elevated this situation to an absolute addiction to Mountain Dew. He was drinking 6, 12 ouncers a day. When he decided to stop, he lost 11 lbs, and said, “roughest two weeks of my life, I’m talking headaches, sweats, everything.”
5.) Dwight Freeney – THE OCD Diet

Just read this…. He keeps an entire binder of what he can and cannot eat by the way…
His diet makes supermodels look indulgent. From the Wednesday morning before the [AFC championship] game to kickoff that Sunday afternoon he ate beef and pinto beans and nothing else, not even for breakfast. He drinks only grape juice, water and occasionally tea as a treat. If he goes to a restaurant he brings his ingredients with him and instructs the chef on how he wants it prepared — no oil, no pepper, no garlic, no garnish, no powder and certainly no pan spray.
