The baseball playoff schedule is set to kick off Wednesday. Phillies vs. Reds, Giants vs. Braves, Yankees vs. Twins, and Rays vs. Rangers. Every year a new story is written, and this year should be no different. There are a ton of impact players on each of the 8 teams, however there are a select 5 guys that we at Unathletic think will have their own story when it’s all said and done.
Here are 5 players that will dictate the flow of October baseball this year……
1.) Cliff Lee – Texas Rangers

Did anyone see Cliff Lee pitch in the playoffs last year? The guy was ridiculous. He’s been on and off of late, but I expect Lee to give David Price and the Rays all they can eat. Lee vs. Price is must-watch TV.
2.) Alex Rodriguez

A-rod tortured the Twins last year. He’s been raking of late. There is no reason to believe A-rod won’t put up big numbers in the ALDS. Remember, he’s clutch now!
3.) Buster Posey

Manbeast in the center of the Giants lineup. This kid has destroyed the ball in the second half this season. Pay attention to Buster, he’ll be making an impact in October for years to come.
4.) Rafael Soriano

It’s a little too late to anoint Soriano as the next big post season closer, but hopefully you saw the numbers this guy had this year. Pretty damn good. Nothing better than knowing a lead is safe after 8 innings i.e. Mariano Rivera.
5.) David Price

I was tempted to go with Carl Crawford here and the way he can change of game, but I think David Price is ready for immortality. The guy is an elite pitcher, and I do believe he has the extra makeup that’ll make him a postseason star.
