There’s a reason I used the term “acting.”  It’s because if I use the term “fake” then I’m kind of limited here.  In sports there is a great deal of drama.  And sometimes that drama can help out your team.  Whether it’s faking an injury or faking out an entire team, acting has it’s place in sports.

Technically it shouldn’t but unfortunately it’s a huge part of the game.  Here are five great examples of acting in major sports….

Baseball – Pretending to be Hit

Is this wrong?  No way.   And you gotta love how Derek Jeter always seems to be part of controversy don’t you?  Hell there aren’t too many chances for a baseball player to do his team some good with a bit of acting.  Hell people fake injuries, falls, shots, whatever in other sports.  Once in a blue moon a player will fake getting hit.  It’s not like it happens often.  Why not take advantage if you can?

The Fake Injury in Soccer – Beyond Pathetic

Of all the sports in the world, soccer is by far the most pussy.  I mean give me a break guys.  Don’t get me wrong, I realize it takes a lot of energy in soccer.  It’s a tough sport, there’s no doubt about it.  But not using your hands and pulling this crap all game?  Give me a break.

The NBA Flop

You have to admit these are absolutely hilarious.  What’s even more hilarious is that at least half these calls went in the way of the faker.  Flopping is a joke in the NBA and I really hope that something is done about it this year.  I’m not sure how much more of it I can take.

Best Fake Punt Ever

You see, Football is a man’s sport and you don’t see much faking going on.  The only thing there is in the line of acting is pulling off plays like this.  I tell ya, it takes a hell of an acting job to sell an entire team on this fake.

Best Hockey Shot Ever

Hockey is another sport that I think sucks balls.  However, at least they don’t have bullshit injury faking and stuff like that.  The only time you see acting is when a goalie or team gets faked out.  I think this video qualifies.
