No not that kind of free agency. Jeter is locked down, and is most likely locked down with the Yankees as well. He is one of many free agents this offseason that should create quite a stir. The others include Carl Crawford, Jayson Werth, Cliff Lee, and Victor Martinez. There are 142 in total.

The most intriguing are probably Crawford and Lee. My guess would be Lee would like to get back into the postseason as quickly as possible after the way the World Series ended. My guess would be Lee ends up with the Rangers. The Tampa Bay Rays will lose a big piece to their sputtering offense when Crawford signs elsewhere. Exec’s in Tampa have their fingers crossed it’s not NY or Boston. I think Jayson Werth ends up in Boston, personally.

Either way, expect a fair amount of action this offseason. The Yankees didn’t win the World Series so you know they’ll be up to something.
