It’s tough to stay interested in the MLB when there are no actual games going on. However, there are definitely plot lines that kind of remain interesting. So that’s how we deal with not being able to watch the game.
We follow the rumors. We see who broke the law, what new policies will be introduced to the game, and of course trades and signings.
Here are five things I think will inevitably happen this offseason….
The Yankees Will Overpay for Someone
Start chomping at the bit Mr. Prince Fielder because the Yanks are coming. Hell I’m a Yankees fan and I’m secretly hoping they don’t go after Carl Crawford. Not to mention they might resign Derek Jeter just to keep him as a life long Yankee. And while it’s 100% evident that the Yankees need some pitching why not add Fielder and make him a DH? Of course it will be stupid as hell, the Yanks will make the playoffs and not do anything because they’ll get shut down by opposing pitching. Come on guys! Get some pitching. And yes, they’ll pay dearly for Cliff Lee.
Instant Replay Will Go Through
Look, even the umpires are saying the damn thing has to happen. Just admit it Selig. Not every play is easily reviewable the moment it happens. Just put instant replay in the game. Do it! Sure it’ll make the games even longer but at least the calls will be gotten right. Hell you could even have a “challenge” rule like in the NFL. They’ll get instant replay in, it’s just a question of how.
Alex Rodriguez will Work on His Tan
He’s getting older folks. And you know what’s going to happen to this dude? He’s gonna bang a ton of chicks, get stale, still hit around 20-30 homers a year and by the time he breaks the record he’ll have sexual diseases and rashes and stuff. Hell his purple lips might even turn black. But at least he’ll be getting laid. Well done Alex, well done.
Tim Lincecum Will Shave his Head
Actually he won’t but I’m secretly hoping he will. Come on man. You definitely look like a girl.
A Cuban Will Defect
Doesn’t this happen every year? There will be another fireballer out there. Either that or some Japanese dude we never heard of.
