The Yankees are offering Cliff Lee 7 years at $65 Trillion. The crafty lefty is seemingly hesitant to sign the deal and still entertaining offers from other clubs. I know we’ve all read reports that money is going to determine where Lee signs, but if the Yankees are going bonkers for the guy, why isn’t the deal already done??

Well there are some people here at Unathletic that believe Cliffy doesn’t want to don the pinstripes. This could very well be the case. If it is;

here are 5 reasons why he doesn’t want to sign with the Bombers…..

(5) They made fun of his wife in the playoffs

I’m not married, but if some people made fun of my mom, I would slit their throats. This seems reasonable.

(4) He Doesn’t Want To Be Constantly Compared To Andy Pettitte

Lee’s a lefty, Pettitte’s a lefty. Let’s face it Pettitte’s a Yankee legend and a postseason warrior. Lee has a lot of work to do against the postseason’s leader in wins.

(3) He Doesn’t Want To Pitch Against the Sox and Rays All Season Long

After the Sox just signed Crawford, who the hell would want to pitch in the AL East. Even the Orioles and Jays rake. I really can’t argue this one.

(2) He Enjoys Owning the Yankees In the Playoffs Too Much

Lee toyed with the Yankees the past two postseasons. They didn’t stand a chance against him. I’m sure he enjoyed owning them, especially at Yankees Stadium.

(1) A-rod Plays On the Yankees. Everyone hates A-rod

The picture says enough.

You forgot one reason… he doesn’t want money… hmmm… or perhaps he is just another greedy player? Nahhhhhhhhh, that can’t be… isn’t that right?
