I always have to put up a disclaimer before I go on a rant. Here’s today’s… I understand that there are 50 plus guys on a football team and they decide the outcome at the end of the day. With that said, Tom Coughlin could be the worst coach in the National Football League. The fact of the matter is if he hadn’t won the Super Bowl, he would have been gone a long time ago. I don’t even give him much credit for winning that Super Bowl. He caught lightening in a bottle and Steve Spagnuolo got that defense playing to their ability. (Something they haven’t done since then)

The past 5 quarters of Giants football have been the most excruciating thing I’ve ever seen. Eli Manning looks like he’s throwing games. The running backs can’t hold onto the football. The defense, which probably possesses the most talented front in the league, gets no pressure and can’t stop a run. The playcalling and “challenges” are absolutely absurd. I mean it’s the worst thing I’ve ever seen. What’s worse is; going into this season the Giants really got no respect. Midway through the season, if you really looked at the team. They had an above average quarterback, a good offensive line, a very solid wide receiving core (with the emergence of Hakeem Nicks, until Steve Smith got hurt), and excellent rushing tandem, a ridiculous defensive line (Kiwi did get hurt though), and an above average secondary. The were just bad at linebacker. Other than that they were a very solid, playoff-like team.

Enough’s enoug. The blame starts at the top. With everything I just said it’s hard to deny this team is underachieving big time. Bring on Bill Cowher. Somebody please get this defense to live up to its potential!!!
