This is going to be my last NCAAF article for a while. I posted the games this morning, and I wasn’t sure what direction to go in to close the season officially. Then I saw this article on Yahoo. I know this story has been beaten to death 7 times about Cecil Newton prostituting his son to different colleges for a lump sum of money, but this last photo really just irritates me.

Cecil Newton is a dickhead. He’s a piss poor excuse for a father, and a man. I’m sure he just watched the movie “Blue Chips” and figured that’s how it works, but seriously. You look at collegiate and professional athletes today and you wonder where the hell something went wrong. Then you see a story like this and you realize it starts with parenthood.

Now, I don’t know what kind of guy Cam Newton is. I don’t know if he had no clue about this and he’s a victim or if he was in on it helping spin the wheels. I do know that this is his father, and that’s a tough thing to get over. He’s handled the situation well. He seemingly has no ill-will towards his dad. For me, it’s tough to believe that Cam Newton is entirely innocent. Perhaps his father is assuming all responsibility on purpose. Either way…. the story isn’t dead. We’ll find out the truth when his Heisman is stripped from him in a couple years.
