Apparently, the NHL and NFL All-Star games took place yesterday. I’m sure you missed it. The NHL’s lack of popularity somewhat explains why their All-Star game sucks. The NFL, on the other hand, is somewhat more of a mystery. I mean it makes sense from the players stand point. They just played a long season, it’s a fun atmosphere, why would they want to go balls out for a game that really means nothing. I guess the same could be said for the NHL, whose players still have half a season left.

Just in case you were curious the NFC beat the AFC after jumping out to a 42-0 lead. The final score was 55-41, and a defensive player, D’Angelo Hall won the MVP of the game. UMMHMMM. In the NHL, Team Lidstrom, yes team Lidstrom beat Team Staal 11-10.

The NHL tried a novel idea and had team captains (Eric Staal and Nicklas Lidstrom) pick their teams. I actually can admit I watched some of the game. It wasn’t that that bad. I don’t think they needed to do the captain thing though. Just play East vs. West. Bottom line is both events are hurting for ratings, and I’m not sure what they could do to change it. Hope you bet the “Overs”
