I try to keep it as hush as possible that I’m a Yankees fan on this blog. I feel like if I blasted off about the Yankees everyday I’d lose half the Unathletic fan base. With that said, I do not make it a secret that I think Hank Steinbrenner sucks. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again… There is just no way, ZERO CHANCE, that he’ll ever be like his father. Period.
Recently, Hank had to open his trap and say the Yankees celebrated too much in 2010…..
“I think, maybe, they celebrated too much last year,” Steinbrenner said Monday. “Some of the players, too busy building mansions and doing other things and not concentrating on winning. I have no problem saying that.”
I get that you have no problem saying that, but do you need to. The fact is you have a lot of professionals on that team, and I’m not sure you’re even correct. This wasn’t a Tim Lincecum”ish” pot smoking band of party boys. This was a veteran team with the likes of Derek Jeter, Mark Teixeira, CC Sabathia, Mo Rivera.. etc. I know you want to be a big bad ass boss like your dad, but it’s not going to happen. Seriously give it up.
We’re at peace my friends, it’s over. We won’t hear about Carmelo Anthony and his trade saga anymore. I seriously get so sick of this crap, but what right do I have to say anything, I’m writing a blog about it. I just perpetuate the bullshit. My gut told me all along ‘Melo would head to the Knicks. David Stern has to be thrilled because this is great for NY.
Lets fast forward a daya, ‘Melo touches down in the Big Apple. The Knicks were able to keep Landry Fields, and actually did a pretty good job in the deal…However, there will be consequences and repercussions…

As you can tell, I’m in a college basketball mood today. Like I said earlier, I really cranked up the analysis on this year’s potential winners, and I’ve come to the following conclusions…
(1) A Big East Team Won’t Win It All - It’s a great conference that will get 9 teams in the field, but there isn’t a team that could win 6 games in a row. Those are the facts. Some teams will do damage and I love St. John’s to make a nice little run, but if Pitt is the “pick” you can forget about a Big East team winning the National Championship.
(2) There Are 4 Mid-Majors to Watch - It’s tough to call these teams “cinderella” because they are good. They’ve even popped up in the rankings to a certain extent. If you want to get fancy.. Look at George Mason, Utah State, Cleveland State, and Wichita State to make moves.
(3) How Can You NOT Put Ohio State in the Championship Game – Ohio State has it all. Size, athleticism, speed, shooting, you name it. I’ll tell you what, watch them closely at the end of the season. If they’re playing good ball, just put them straight in the Final Four. There isn’t a team in basketball with more depth and talented personnel.
(4) Duke Won’t Repeat - If you think about it… this isn’t a bold statement. You know how hard it is for a team to win back-to-back National Championships. So lets just start from there. Secondly, I think right now they are too reliant on Nolan Smith. He’s a great player don’t get me wrong, but he’s doing too much on a loaded team. Singler is off, and obviously the loss of Kyrie Irving earlier in the season doesn’t help. Duke will be a 1 seed, but I could easily see a hot team knocking them off.
We’re getting close to March my friends, and you know what that means. Bracketbuster week really got me in the mood for March Madness. I’ve been casually paying attention to college basketball all season, but now it’s time to get it in.
To get things started, we are going to take a look at some classic emotional moments in the past decade or so. Feel free to chime in on some of your favorites.
