It was like an accident on the side of the highway… I couldn’t help but look. I saw this article on a man who put $132,300 dollars on India to win the 2011 Cricket World Cup at 3-1 odds. I’ve heard of some serious bets before so it’s not so much the dollar amount that scares me, but I just wanted to take a peak at what this Cricket World Cup was all about.
The Sportsbook in London said this was the largest single-day wager ever placed with them. They also said they are shitting their pants, praying India doesn’t win. India are the favorites as they are ranked tops in the world. Do top ranked teams always win tournaments like this? Usually not.
Either way, I know this isn’t thrilling, but I thought it was pretty funny. If the dude wins he takes home close to $400,000. I say we all put a grand on India! This guy knows something.

Everyday I post videos, and everyday the human brain is put into question. This is just another one of those cases. Did this guy actually think this was going to end well? I remember when I was a young whippersnapper… I loved Katie Holmes. I wanted her to be my girlfriend. I wanted to go to second base with her. I just loved her. I thought she was cool. I thought she was cute, and although I wasn’t producing much sperm at the time I wanted to have intercourse with her. Then she met Tom Cruise, terrorist attacks started happening, and the world became a dark cold place.

Allegedly, the offer to Albert Pujols from the Cardinals was not in the top 5 of annual salaries for all MLB players. That astounds me. Either way, Pujols and the Cardinals failed to reach a deal, and he will become a free agent. It’s scary to think about Albert on the market and where he could go. I’m really starting to think that he may in fact leave St. Louis, a thought that never crossed my mind until this morning.
The Cardinals really put themselves in a jam with the Holliday deal. But like the article says, Holliday is willing to defer money to keep Pujols on the team. He knows like everyone else does that if he leaves the Cardinals you can forget about it. He is easily, and I say easily, the best player in baseball. He deserves the most money, and unfortunately the Yankees have screwed over the world because he does deserve the MOST money.
If you want to look at highest paid players and crazy contracts, you can easily understand why Pujols should get paid the most. I do sympathize with the Cardinals in that the years were too much, but still. We’re talking not only about one of the greatest on-field talents in the history of the game, but a guy that fills seats and helps the team’s marketing. The messed up thing is; I’ve always been bitter about crazy contracts these athletes get, but I do believe Pujols deserves to be the highest paid, even though the highest paid is too much.
