A University of Minnesota booster has been banned from campus athletic facilities for 1-year after he sucker punched Goldy Gopher at a gymnastics meet. 60-year old, Douglas Dokken, lost his cool Saturday night when Goldy sat behind him during a gymnastics meet and started tapping him on the shoulder. After about the third round, Dokken turned around and punched the mascot knocking him back into the bleachers much to the terror of young fans around him.

It was the old “tap one shoulder and hide on the other shoulder trick”! Apparently, Goldy Gopher was having great success with this joke throughout the meet until he met up with Dokken. Lets be serious here for a second; you punch a Gopher mascot because he’s tapping you on the shoulder. I mean I could see feeling foolish, maybe even pissed if you got “tricked” by the old opposite shoulder tap joke, but to punch a precious Gopher? That’s muffed up bro.
