The man that ruined your bracket with a 12 point, 17 rebound performance, and a key block to end the game; Mr. Kenneth Faried. We’ve all heard the name, we have a good idea of what he’s about, but who is this guy and where is he going. Kenneth Faried has left a legacy at Morehead State.

Faried broke Tim Duncan‘s modern-era (post-1973) Division I career rebounding mark with 12 rebounds in the Eagles’ 71–65 victory over Indiana State on February 19, 2011. The NCAA’s modern era began after 1973 when freshman were permitted to play along with the split into the three Divisions in use today. Duncan’s previous record of 1,570 rebounds had stood since 1997.

Faried was a tw0-time OVC player of the year, and won defensive player of the year 2010. He was also a 2010 AP All-American Honorable Mention. As far as the NBA goes, Faried is an interesting proposition. The guy is a double-double machine a la Kevin Love, but Love’s offensive game is light years ahead of Faried’s. He’s more of a Ben Wallace-type that could hang with a team for a long time
