The 2008 NBA Draft was a good one. You had Derrick Rose, Russell Westbrook, and of course the man pictured above. Kevin Love was drafted 5th overall to the Memphis Grizzlies in 2008. That night they were feeling a little good about themselves so in an 8-team trade they sent Love to Minnesota for O.J. Mayo. The other players were role players who have little impact on the game.

Currently, NBA officials are looking to retitle the trade to T-Wolves acquire Kevin Love from Grizzlies instead of Memphis acquires OJ Mayo. That was the big story of the night. The flashy Mayo, who was once thought to be Lebron Jr. was suppose to be a steal.

Fast forward to today. I’m not knocking Mayo. The guy has done very well, but with his off the court struggles and Love’s remarkable success it’s plain the see the Griz got fleeced. Kevin Love just set the record, THE NBA RECORD, for most consecutive double-doubles, and he doesn’t appear to be stopping anytime soon. The guy is just pure work, a dream to have on your team. He’s averaging 20.8 ppg at close to 50% shooting, 15.8 rpg, and 2.8 apg. Absolutely fantastic numbers, and although Mayo has been good, Kevin Love is in a league of his own.

He’s a workhorse, who brings 110% every game, a rarity in this day and age. Who knows when this streak is going to end? Derrick Rose is fantastic, but don’t sleep on Kevin Love as being the player with the most impact out of the 2008 draft. Whoops Memphis!

If you had the choice would you date a hot chick who knows nothing about sports and never played or a hot chick that played a sport and was awesome at it…… Yeah, that’s what I thought.

We can sit here and talk about Lucy Pinder, Irina Sheik, and every other sexy chick on the planet, but we can’t watch a game with them. They’re hot, no doubt, but I have a hard time believing they know much about sports.

I’m just bullshitting, I bet some of these chicks know sports, but hey man, it think it’d be a plus to have an athlete. Take a look at 5 athletes who would make top notch WAGs.

It wasn’t exactly the route the preseason top 10 team wanted to take, but they’ve won the Horizon and they’re back in the dance. The question is now; how far do you take them? I don’t think anyone has big plans for the Bulldogs in 2011

Hate him or love him, the guy is quotable. He’s in fact hilarious. I’m not a Sox fan, but I could listen to him give interviews all day. He just comes up with funny shit. You have to fast forward the video to the minute mark, but the entire interview is enjoyable.

After careful review, I’m pretty sure this kid is never going to be the same. I have no idea what is going on here, but it occurs in stages. You can see the terror in the kids face, the event occurs and the kid shits his pants, then HE’S OUTTA THERE! Hilarious

I have no pride. I hate this chick. Listening to her talk makes me want to rip every single pubic hair out of my testicles manually. However, when you’re sexy and you’ve enhanced yourself I guess we can let it slide. I seriously fuckin hate myself for doing this.

Take a look…

Recruiting, CHECK. Image, Check. Charisma, Check. Coaching, (puzzled look). Discipline, (yawn). Heart, (ugh).

That sums of the Villanova Wildcats and their leader Jay Wright. The good news is, Jay still has most of the loyal fan base fooled. Let’s face it, Jay Wright is never, EVER going to be mentioned in the same breathe as any coach who actually coaches. The man could be the worst in-game coach I’ve ever seen in my life. Why does he get this dubious distinction? His team’s are always loaded with talent, and this year especially has been a joke.

Villanova lost to South Florida in the first round of the Big East Tournament last night. Just so we understand the gravity of the situation; South Florida was 15th in the league and finished 3-15 in regular season play. (2 of those wins were against Depaul who only won 1 game). Villanova, on the other hand, was picked in the preseason top 8. A ranking that they clung to the entire season as they continued to get worse. Finally, they lost their grip on the Top 25 after 4 consecutive losses. I’ll be nice and say that they were against ranked teams.

The facts are the facts. Villanova can be described as this; a bunch of extremely talented players, who grossly underachieve. They cannot play with a lead WHATSOEVER, and have no desire to play defense. As always the fish stinks from the head. When Jay Wright first got to ‘Nova he had the pleasure of having Randy Foye, Allan Ray, Mike Nardi, Jason Fraser, Curtis Sumpter, and Kyle Lowry. If one of these guys aren’t playing in the NBA, the others have been successful overseas. The coach has parlayed the success of these teams into obtaining high quality recruits, and really putting ‘Nova on the map. That and that reason only is why the team has had success. Jay Wright does nothing in terms of basketball. They don’t run an offense, and now the players aren’t improving. Particularly, Dominic Cheek who was close to attending Kansas.

It’s plain to see that the honeymoon period is over. I can say with confidence that a different coach would have led this team in a more successful direction. Jay Wright’s inability to design a structure and identity for this team will continue to leave them in the underachievement pool.

That logo is kind of lame isn’t it? Anyway, more important issues are at hand. Everyone is probably aware that there have been a host of changes to the 2011 NCAA Tournament. If you are reading this blog then you probably follow sports, and it would be imperative you are aware of said changes.

Don’t panic. We are going to make you keenly aware of everything you need to know by next week.

Read carefully….
